First DW trip

We are planning our first DW vacation in June. There are 7 of us- my husband and myself and 5 children ages 2,5,7,9 and 11. We are interested in renting a time share villa/house so that we can have a kitchen to use and pool. It was suggested to me to check here on these boards for something like that. Can somebody explain to me what exactly are points and how do I investigsate renting these points?

A two bedroom DVC villa will probably cost more than two value resort rooms. If you want to save money, get the two value resort rooms and get connecting rooms. You won't have a kitchen, but you'll have a pool.
