After buying a DVC resale last year, we are just back from our first DVC visit to OKW (20 nights total). The resort and accommodations are absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations! The first week DD, SIL and grand kids were with us in a 2 bedroom lockoff. When they left, DH and I planned to move to a studio for a few nights then to a l bedroom for the remainder of our stay. After our first week in the 2 bedroom we were spoiled and booked the l bedroom for the remainder of our stay.
We were very lucky and got building 62, which was very convenient to HH with small kids, strollers etc. We had a couple burned out light bulbs and the microwave quit working. All were replaced very promptly by maintenance.

We did not miss daily housekeeping at all. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was wonderful. DD was so glad to go back home with clean clothes for her family instead of a pile of laundry.

We also caught the "add on" bug and bought 110 points at BCV while we were there.
Thanks to everyone on this board for all the great information! OKW is wonderful!

Glad you enjoyed your stay at OKW.Once you stay in a 1BR it is hard to go back.:D

Agreed.
Staying in an ordinary motel/hotel room is now--well-- ordinary!!

It's nice to hear that you had a great time. Those 1br will get you everytime. We'll be there in about 3 weeks and will be in a 2br. We stayed in 62 before and loved the location. Anywhere in OKW is just fine with me.

The other hard part is actually having to PAY to stay someplace else or in another hotel!!!!! LOL :D:D:D:D:D

Glad to hear you had a great time!!!! OKW is our home resort and so far we love it!

SHHHHHH, LIZZIEPOOH, don't let everyone know the secret.

Don't know about not paying for it though, there's money leaving my acct monthly to DVD and I don't stay there every month, I'm paying for something.LOL;)

Glad to hear you had a great trip!

We just got back on saturday from OKW and stayed in bldg 16 in a GV. It was wonderful and I want to go back! Actually, I want to live there. :) Bldg 16 is just across the street from bldg 62 and we love being so close to the main pool and the General store.

Is bldg 62 the one with an elevator? Well, our last trip there, the elevators were very convenient for strollers, etc. This time was kind of a hassle but we got a routine down that I grabbed the baby and the diaper bag and my dh grabbed the stroller to drag it up the stairs!

I agree with once in a 1br or bigger, you can never go back to a regular hotel room!
