Our first DVC trip is coming up on 8/23 and we will be staying at SSR. We are very excited but have kind of a strange question. Is it possible to get a gallon or 1/2 gallon of milk at SSR or DTD? I know the small single serving size ones are available all over, but we have a 1 1/2 yr old with us and will be needing a decent amount of milk and buying those wouldn't make much sense. We are flying so bringing our own isn't an option (no rental car either). We know that places like wegoshop and garden grocier are good options, but we don't really need much else in the way of groceries so doing one of those would mean a $12 gallon of milk. If anyone knows if this is possible or not it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Congrats on your first trip back Home! :thumbsup2 There is always a mercantile type section of the gift shop where you can pick up some small grocery items. I will warn you to be prepared for sticker shock :scared1: The prices are quite high! I have not looked at DTD to see if they have anywhere that sells groceries, but there may be. I hope you have a magical time. Sending pixiedust:pixiedust: for you guys to have a magical time!

There is a Hess Gas Station that sells milk and other smaller snack items. It usually cost less than buying at SSR shop.
You can take the boat or walk over to DTD from SSR and then walk across the street to the Hess station.

I have the resort's list of grocery items that are offered. A 1/2 gallon of milk is $2.95. This price is from 2009. We used to have garden grocer deliver food, but we no longer do that. We now just get the few items we need from the resort's store.

:) As the PP stated you can get a resort grocery list with pricing from the Member Website. I glance at mine from time to time planning what we may need.

Thank you all for your quick responses. Like I said before we were only looking for some milk and maybe a couple other small things and we were just wondering what was available in the resort store. The last few years we have stayed in moderate resorts and didn't know if there may be a little more available in SSR. If we don't order and food throught the DVC website before hand how can we go about it once we are on property (we won't have a computer with us). Thanks again.:)

oops. After looking at the members website again on the grocery list I see that it has to be done 3 days in advance. We would obviously need to order more than just a 1/2 gallon of milk or that would be one expensive ($7.95 with delivery) 1/2 gallon of milk!!! :rotfl:

The option of walking over to the Hess seems like that may be a good idea. Thanks for all your input. If anyone has any other ideas I would appreciate it.

You can pick it up at the SSR store when you check in, they are right next door to one another. You don't have to order in advance; that's only if you want it delivered to your room for you.

Price in the store will be the same as you see on the check list, less the delivery fee.

Like PP said, there are grocery items at all the resorts including DVC. I know we bought milk, donuts & juice at Artist's Palette which along with counter service also has a small market area and a gift shop. For groceries they have items like soda, snacks, breakfast items, frozen foods, bagels, muffins, pastries, beer & wine. But I would follow the PPs advice & got to Hess if you want beer or wine, because the prices in the shops are ridiculous.
