Hello,

We'll be going on our first DVC trip (many regular trips over the years) in 100 days, may 4th.

We just called DVC and were able to get tickets for the 7:15 Hoop Dee Doo show on our first day. Wow. We were so surprised to be able to get them.

We'll be arriving at MCO around 10am and plan on checking in at resort and then heading to BB for the afternoon.

Since we'll have a car the first day, it'll be great to be able to drive to the Waterpark and also drive to the Hoop Dee Do.

No waiting for the busses and having to go to a park then over to FW.

So excited.

We are staying at OKW for our first trip home.

So excited. Looking forward to the Flower and Garden too.

:teeth:

Happy planning, have fun and Welcome Home! :sunny:

You are so right about having a car for Hoop Dee Doo. The last time we went, without a car, was a nightmare! You have to take a bus from Hoop Dee Doo to Downtown Disney and then to your resort, in our case - BWV. It must have taken one and a half hours to get home. We've been going to Hoop Dee Doo for over 17 years, and that was the last time we will ever go. They used to have buses return you right to your resorts. I believe we also had a problem on the previous trip but we wound up at the Wilderness Lodge and called a cab or something. It is so inconvenient without a car. As much as the family still loves it, we will never go again if we do not have our own transportation. It is such a fun show!

OKW is great. Very quiet, but a great place. The Hoop-de-doo is still great. It has the same corny jokes as it did when I first saw it as a kid in the 70's, but it is sooo fun. Have a great trip.

Hoop Dee Doo is timeless! My family has been about 6 times, the first being more than 20 years ago and yes, my dad, a huge santa-like man, was the lucky fairy in the pink tutu (sp?). So be prepared to participate!

Have an awesome first trip! Great idea to do Hoop Dee Doo on your first trip - it's sooooo funny, food is good too. We took our kids when they were youngers (big teens now), and we all laughed so hard, we were surprised at how good it really was. It's a good 1st trip thing to do. I try to plan something we've never done for each trip. Have a really great time - may this be the beginning of many awesome vacations to come....... :cool1:

We've always had a good time at the Hoop. And the time my big ol' bro-in-law was picked for the finale was priceless. (Mind you a decent amount of flirting was done prior to the pick with one of the female cast members...oh yeah and the beer, can't forget the beer....)

But as far as needing a car to get there, we've always just hopped on our resort bus to Magic Kingdom and taken the boat to Fort Wilderness. From there it's a short stroll and your there. I'm sure it takes longer but we love the boat ride over there. We've always done this in the summer with late MK hours so I don't know how well it would work in non-peak times, but for our purpose it was a nice alternative. :thumbsup2

I enjoyed the Hoop show very much, but my husband did not like it at all. His only real complaint was that we were seated in the balcony. I have to admit, it was difficult to watch the show with your back to the stage. It was either your back to the stage or your back to your food. It also did not help that instead of regular chairs, you sit in very high bar stools. Our 3yo granddaughter fell off her seat and onto the hardwood floor beneath. Unfortunately we probably will not return.

We were there this week. It was strange to see the place only about 15% full for the 9:30 show. I must admit we enjoyed it but it was corny and I couldn't take it more than once every few years. No way I'd want to get there or back without a car.
