Well, tomorrow we're off to Disney World for a trip where part of it will be @ OKW (a grand villa--we're having some family from GA come and we can't wait to see it--heard lots of great stuff about them). I know check-in is anytime after 4pm, but has anyone had luck getting in earlier? Is there a number you can call from the park to see if your room is available (I'm assuming the front desk)?

Also, if you can't get in early, are there any special arrangements you have to make if you won't be there until 8 or 9? We're having luggage transferred from another resort and I certainly wouldn't want to hear "bell services have closed for the night, you can get your luggage tomorrow". Thanks in advance!

You can pre-check in when you arrive, and they will give you a card with a number to call. We usually call starting about 2:00. Sometimes we have gotten in right away when we arrive. They give you the room keys when you pre-check-in, so there is no need to return to the desk when you go to your room.

"bell services have closed for the night, you can get your luggage tomorrow".

You shouldn't hear that. Someone handles bell service round the clock. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to mention at check-in that you might not be returning until late in the evening.

And to add to diane's post - they will hold your luggage for you if needed and when you get back to the resort and get to your room after it's ready, just call the bell services and they will gladly bring your bags up to you - depending on the weather and how many bags you have - a nice tip is good to give them. (If it's rainy, it's always nice to give a dollar or two more).

I'm sorry...I didn't read the end of your post - I arrived with a transfer from the Swan back to OKW, went to MVMCP and didn't get back until around 11:30pm and they gladly brought my luggage up to me. Luggage usually doesn't arrive until after 3pm - just an fyi.

Forgot to say -- Have a great trip! Starting out in a GV is sure going first-class.

Thanks, everyone, for the info. Hope I don't get too spoiled by the grand villa--it definitely won't be the norm for us!

We just went home to VWL first trip in Dec and had same situation. We got there at 10am and left luggage safely there and went to MK. They gave us a # to call and gave us a card and keys with room # on the card. We didnt have to go back to front desk before getting in room. We called bell services and they promptly deliver our luggage. Not sure if they will place luggage in room ahead of time or not.

Have Lots and Lots of FUN!!!!!!
