We are enjoying our first DVC stay. Although we own at AKV, we are staying on developer points at Saratoga springs. first two days in the springs section in a studio. Now in a 1 bdr in Congress Park. We may never stay in smaller than a 1 bdr again, very nice. Springs was nice as we were close to the main pool. Congress Park isn't that far away though and we love our Downtown Disney view. The weather has been great!

We have had an issue with problems being resolved in a timely manner. Learning from previous threads the importance of addressing maintainence issues, not only for ourselves but for future vacationers as well, we contacted both the front desk and maintainence about a the hair dryer not working and 2 missing lightbulbs. We called about these issues for three days before they were finally taken care of. On the first day, I told them that we weren't in a big hurry on the lightbulbs, but my wife needs the hairdryer. When I called on the evening of the third day (3rd day calling - 4th of 1 bdr stay), I let them know that I was very disapointed this had not been resolved yet. It was taken care of shortly after. That being said the Mainainence worker was friendly and professional.

All in all, another great WDW vacation.

Glad you're enjoying your vacation. Here's wishing you many more!:)

Did they explain why you had to call 3x before it was finally resolved?

Glad the weather treated you right and thanks for sharing. Wish your issues would have been resolved quicker but at least the next guest won't have to make the same calls so I am sure they appreciated.

Good news is that football season is right around the corner and I see you are "ftballfan7."

No there was no explanation, just an assurance that it would be taken care of right away.

The day my wife called about the hair dryer she asked the person in maintenance how long it would be because her hair was wet and she wanted to dry it before our dining reservation. The response was "I understand dear but this is a very busy time of year and the crew is backed up". Her hair air dried that night (and the next 2 mornings). I guess we figured that they could just run up a hair dryer to use until the wall unit was replaced. Still, we didn't let it affect the good time we are having and now it is fixed. Unfortunately we are checking out tomorrow. Back in Feb. though, so we will survive without too many withdrawal symptoms.

when calling everyone, please remember do not call the Front Desk, you get the Disney Call center and those messages seem to never make it to the appropriate person.

Housekeeping and maintenance push the appropriate buttons on your phone, let them know when they can, be sure you do not have a Do Not Disturb sign out.

Remember the name of the person you talked to. If the problem is not taken care of; call back, ask to speak to the on duty manager, state your request again and that you have already called previously.

We follow this format and never have had trouble getting issues resolved quickly usually within an hour and definitely that same day. Calling early in the day is the best time.

And Yes definitely address issues that are not working, not only for yourself but others following you. If everyone did this, we would not check into rooms with things not working.

Good to know! I always ask for names- but didn't think to avoid calling the front desk.
