Is there anything you pack when staying DVC that you don't pack when staying at a resort? Thanks!

What type of DVC unit are you staying in? I would agree on the more food items. I also bring dish soap, laundry detergent, coffee and coffee filters.

We packed pop tarts and oatmeal because we could heat those up in the room. I also packed (but never ended up using) extra bath towels because they don't give you new towels every day. I bought cheap white ones from Target just in case we needed them. I just figured that if we used them the resort could just keep them...no big deal but we ended up not using them at all.

coffee. your room will not be provided coffee every day as you get with a non-DVC resort.

If you ask the front desk for more, they'll provide it. However, if you drink a lot of coffee like my family, it's simply easier to bring it.

We cook breakfast in our resort so I would bring salt and pepper

We do a grocery order with milk, oj, coffee, creamer, breakfast stuff, snacks and laundry pods.

For a 2br, laundry stuff. You can wash your clothes, so bring less. And if you want fresh towels, just toss them in the washer on your way out the door in the morning and into the dryer when you return.

Coffee and filters, if that is your thing. I believe the unit has a 12 cup Mr. Coffee.

We bring a game or puzzles to leave out on the table. Fun way to relax in the room.

You’ll have a full kitchen.... which I particularly like for breakfast since not everyone wakes up and dresses at the same pace.

A 2br gives you the chance to relax and have a seat and a conversation without having to sit on beds.

Depends on what size room you are getting. Despite room size i always pack coffee and coffee filters. Because you will have a fridge, toaster and microwave (at least) I usually do a small amazon prime now order for easy breakfast items.

Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap) housekeeping only come by on day 4 of your trip for towel service.

If in a 1 or 2 BR unit i will pack laundry pods. Nothing is better than coming home and your laundry is already done and the fact that you don't have to pack much.

I don't pack the extra items, but I do order extra things to be delivered. I get food, water, and snacks (especially coffee and breakfast items). I also get laundry products and pump hand soap.

That's the first thing I thought of too. Also, sugar and creamer, since you may not get enough. But if you forget, all is not lost. You can always..."acquire" some at any place that serves coffee.

  1. Less clothes - there is a washer\dryer - we use it daily.
  2. Laundry Detergent - we also wash the towels daily
  3. Order food in - or grocery shop before arriving - take advantage of the full fridge to house all your drinks, inexpensive water, eggs, oj - milk, half & half etc.
  4. We like the liquid hand soap dispensers
  5. They are supposed to give you enough TP to last your whole visit - if you run out, just call housekeeping
  6. Also - if you don't finish\use a product - leave it for housekeeping - they are allowed to take unopened items home with them.
  7. We tip the last day - especially if we are leaving open items in the fridge\kitchen area.
  8. They do come in daily to pick up the trash now - but if not - you're responsible for recycling and emptying it.
Threw 7 & 8 there - extra info. :)

HAVE FUN!!!!!

It depends if your stay is on DVC points or cash through Disney Reservation Center. If you paid cash through DRC, you'll get a full cleaning every day with replacement of all the amenities. If you booked through DVC, your villa will only be serviced every four days. If you drink coffee every morning, you'll want to bring filters and coffee for the coffee pot. You won't get enough to make a fresh pot every day otherwise. Same if you plan on washing towels frequently since they are only changed out every four days. Bring laundry detergent and fabric softener or softener sheets if you use them. You'll only get one single use box of detergent each service day.

Plus there is no need to tip at all if all you get is the regular service. That's part of DVC dues.

When staying in a 1BR or larger, I will pack less clothes since I can do laundry. You may want to park some pods since they don’t give you much detergent and it’s expensive at the resorts.

Disposable bowls, utensils, while there is some, I don't want to have to be searching for cleaning people down for replenishments when I absolutely need it. I take a scrubbing sponge, and an extra trash bag in case we need more space to throw trash in between cleaning.

We generally do breakfast in the room, so I bring groceries for that, especially my own coffee as well as wine for the evenings since there's glassware available in the villas. I also fill a small plastic lock-n-lock container with laundry pods from home. I don't back a whole lot differently otherwise.

You won't need either of those. Each kitchen and kitchenette has a bottle of dishwashing detergent, plus a scrubbing sponge. There are extra trash bags in the bottom of every trash can. Now with daily trash removal, you probably won't gather that much trash any more. Usually there is a trash room either on your floor of the hotel style DVC villas or on the ground floor of the community style villas (OKW, SSR). There should be both trash bins and recycle bins in the trash rooms.

If you're bringing coffee and filters, you'll need the flat bottom type for 10-12 cup coffeemakers.
