hi

im planning a trip to dlp. i live in the uk and this will be our first and i dont know where to start. which is the best tour operator to use for dpl? has anyone had any good or bad experiences with them? were not set on using a particular company. i would like to go cheap and cheerful. were thinking of going in august for 4 nights and want to stay in a dlp hotel. does anyone have any good advice for a first timer? we might possibly extent our trip and spend some time in paris itself. any advice on that? we have been to wdw twice now with two totally different experiences. 1st we stayed onsite at akl and went with virgin and the 2nd time we stayed in a villa and went with tcd. i had no complaints with either. infact both trips were fab due to these boards and our maticulous planning (lol) and i would like to make this one as good as possible too. i do have to book last minute though (4-6 weeks at earliest) as i dont know when exactly in august dh will be in the country. sorry to go on and ask so many questions already.

thanks in advance

love

lucy

hi well first thing staying at DLP in august it is going to be hard to find it cheap on site, the cheapest options is Santa Fe . If you stay of site you can find some really good deals it depends on what is more important staying on site or saving some money.

and secondly last year we tried to book for august a few weeks in advance and there was NOTHING available that we wanted so we ended up going in september. so you need to be flexible in terms of dates, accommodation and travel options.

We always have booked with Disney direct as we have always found them the cheapest however if you want to stay in Paris as well try some where like crestra or expedia.

hi

i should have known it would be hard to book last minute in the 6 weeks hols. we cant go term time as my dd is starting senior school but we could go in the last week. i would like to stay onsite for the duration of our disney visit and then maybe stay in paris itself for a short while afterwards. the flights are pretty cheap from our local airport to charles de gaule (£329 for all 4 of us return). we have never booked flights only before so i dont know if the price rises the later you book. as we have been to paris before (but not dlp) were not daunted by the underground system as dh was a natural. i think we will just have to see what happens and maybe try and book as soon as i know when dh is home. i have looked at the hotels and santa fe looks fine for what we will need as we learnt from staying in alk we were only in the room to sleep. hopefully it will all fall into place.

thank you for your help and advice.

Hi lucy_love_ and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

Booking with Disney direct often comes up with the best prices but have a look around as many tour company's have special deals.

As you have picked when both English and French kids are off school the parks and hotels will most probably be very busy. So therefore not much chance of cheap deals :)

The only extra bit of advice I can give is if you can't get accommodation booked at one of the Disney hotels then try one of the off-site ones such as Explorers, Holiday Inn, Kyriad etc which all have a free shuttle service to the parks. They may not fill up as quickly as the Disney hotels.

thanks very much. will keep all this in mind. will keep everyone posted and ill let you know when i have finally booked. hopefully not too long.
