Hi everyone, me and my partner are coming to wdw in December from the UK , we are both so excited, we come every year but usually in May time so we are super excited to go during the Christmas period. Can any of you guys give us any tips i.e first off the weather! what clothes do we bring and also what does everybody recommend as a must do at this time. We are spending 2 weeks there so we do have plenty of time. If any of you can give us any advice or tips for this particular time of year we would really appreciate it! THanks!

When in december are you going? The Beginning of December at Disney can be MUCH different than the end. Weather can change over that period, and crowds will be DRASTICALLY different the first week than they are the last (Between Christmas and New Years).

This is my favorite time to go (last week in November/first week in December)! The weather can be unpredictable so when it gets closer, check the 10 day forecast online. I am from NY so our weather is quite similar to yours. Usually I have some shorts and some capri pants and some jeans. I dress in layers because early mornings can be somewhat chilly (high 50's to low 60's F), afternoons are often semi warm (mid - high 70's F) and evenings can get chilly again (low 60's F). I rarely swim because it just takes time away from the parks. But if you are there for 2 weeks, you would definitely have time to swim - and the pools are generally heated.

Don't miss the following:

1. Candlelight Processional at EPCOT. Even if you are not very religious or christian, it is enjoyable because the music is very good :)

2. Osborne Lights at DHS.

3. Holiday decorations at the resorts. I particularly like GF and WL but all resorts have some sort of holiday decor worth seeing.

Have a wonderful time and let me know if you'll be there between Nov. 29th and Dec. 4th and we can compare notes!

Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios. Dinner at Brown Derby. My boyfriend and myself will be there the week of NewYears Eve. I am quite excited. Also, check out some of the dinner shows. Definitely fireworks while having dinner at the California Grill.

i love late november, early december, the weather is normally lovely but can be cool first thing in the morning. i have been to orlando 5 times in nov/dec and have never been disappointed. the q's are minimal, you get in all of the shows and disney only close one of the water parks. i stayed at pop century last year and had to use the air con on more than one occasion!! i know from friends that towards christmas the q's are longer but its still disney and the sparkle and magic is there all year round.
enjoy your trip

I ditto Staci - Candlelight Pro. was awesome, Osbourne Lights (without kids it is so relaxing to just stroll through and take it in), and the Deluxe Resort self tour is a must. We took a morning and just toured the resorts and had a nice lunch at the Boardwalk to finish it off. Then we entered Epcot at the back and just strolled around. You will love it at that time of year. We are going back this year to do it again! We also took in Cirque de Soleil and had dinner at Wolfgang Puck Cafe after. Also go to MVMCP - agian without kids it is a whole different experience. This year we are planning to try the piano bar at Boardwalk and maybe Ragland Road at DTD.

I do not get in the Christmas Spirit until my December trip to WDW.
I agree 100% on the Candlelight being a not miss and if you can afford it add Mickeys Christmas Party to it as well. The Osborne lights are a wonderful sight as is the "snow"
As for the weather, it can vary so much that I say be prepared and have long sleeves and short sleeves as well as a jacket. I have been there when it got down to 32* at night. If the predictions are to be believed tho it is supposed to be warmer this year.
Also, make it a point to go to the Grand Floridian and see the GingerBread house :)
The crowd level will depend on exactly when you go....

My DH and I will be there Nov. 27 - Dec 4. We were there last year about the same time and had a great trip. The weather was warm and the crowds were pretty low.

Others have already said that when you go in December will dramatically effect your experience. Early in December is one of the lowest crowd levels of the year. Later in December (Christmas week) IS the highest level of attendance of they year. Since you will be there for two weeks, you will probably be there for a variety of crowd levels. The suggestions people have made are all great: Osborne lights, Candlelight processional, and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party are all magnificant events. During all of December, all of the Holiday decorations are on display. Florida in December is a great weather. It is passed the hurricane season and it the beginning of the dry (dryer) season in Florida. The tempatures are still in the 70's and low 80's most days. It is perfect as far as we are concerned. Even when it rains, it's pretty warm. It's not like where you, and we live (Pacific Northwest Coast of US) when it is almost always cold when it rains. We have experiences of 80 degrees and raining. Some of our most memorable experinces at Disney World and Land have been days where it poured rain all day. What days are you going to be there?
