Hi all, I've really found these boards helpful!

We'll be arriving at Orlando Airport at 2:15 on Sunday, 10/15/06. It is me, dh, ds (5) and dd (1). We are probably staying at POFQ and doing the dining plan. My son is usually pretty adventurous and can pack in a full day and then do a theme park for 3hrs and only gets sleepy at the end (and that's with no nap). The baby can crash out pretty easily in the sling or the stroller.

I had thought to get to the room, settle in, and then probably head to MK. MK is open till 9pm that night + more EMH in the evening. We could either do dinner at LTT (if we can get in, haven't booked ADR yet) or maybe eat at the dinner at the contemporary (or just counter service if nothing else works) and then spend a few hours in the park that evening till everyone has had enough (or maybe split up if ds (5) is still going strong and the baby is petering out).

The other option is we don't go to the parks that night and instead have a nice dinner at one of the resorts and maybe catch the fireworks from outside the parks.

Opinions/suggestions?

Just remember that MK will be super busy that night if it's an EMH evening. Lines will likely be longer than they are on other days.

Not so much a suggestion, but this is what we're doing on arrival day...
My DD8 and I will be arriving on a Wednesday morning and should arrive to the hotel (AKL) before 1pm. We're planning on going to MGM in the afternoon (after we check in), a late lunch/early dinner at Sci-Fi at 3pm, and then probably back to the AKL by early evening to enjoy the nighttime activities offered at the resort. A good night's sleep, and off the MK to take advantage of the EMH morning as soon as the park opens.

Good luck, and have fun!

I think your plan sounds great. I would love it if my family would want to do that. But we usually get in around noon, settle into the resort. Hopefully get in a little swimming then have a nice dinner somewhere in DTD. Soak up a little magic down there then turn in early to get a refreshed start for the next day. Good luck with your plans.

We like to go to DTD on the first night. Eat at a restaurant, and see the shops (they have some neat stuff down there). You can get a good nights rest and be ready for the next day.
