My husband and I always go to the bar (as soon as it's open) and get a pina colada. This started on our first trip to Disney (actually our first big vacation anywhere) as a couple only seven months into our relationship.

Does anyone have any first day at Disney traditions?

The first day is always spent at the Magic Kingdom. The first lunch is always at Casey's, and the first dinner meal is always eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern.

First night is at MK. We take a picture by the castle and grab a bite at Pecos Bill's. Then we declare that the vacation is really underway.

First trip to Epcot, we get a plum wine in Japan and toast to a good trip and a happy family. So far, it's always worked!

This is only the second trip but...

Cali Grill for Wishes on arrival night.

My 1st day tradition has been to go to the Boardwalk to go to ESPN. It started a few years ago, when the 1st Monday night football game that year was that night and it just so happened to be the Pats, the place was packed but it was so much fun! I always go there now no matter what season. I took my dad there in April, baseball was just starting, he had a great time. It was his 1st trip since my mother passed away and I just wanted him to have a good time. He loved it!

Our first night tradition is dinner at Chef Mickey's, a ride around the monorail loop, and Wishes and Spectro at the MK.

We also hit DD. A little pin trading for the kids, a round of new t-shirts to wear to Mk the next day and a xmas ornament for me.

We never miss dinner and drinks at House of Blues on our first night.

We, my husband and I, go very often. Even before we were married there, and we always leave Friday afternoon. Our tradition after every Friday arrival is to go straight to EPCOT and get a margarita in Mexico! That's a great question! We've been doing it for years. It's our favorite park! Instead of taking our wedding geusts out to dinner, after rehearsal, we reserved a space around the lagoon with an open bar for everyone to see Illumunations! It was the actual space Micheal Eisner reserves for his family! It was the highlight of the wedding weekend!! We stayed there till 10:30. When we left we had the whole park to ourselves. It was awesome!!!

Yep, we check in and go straight to MK, then to EPCOT for dinner at San Angel Inn.

As soon as our cases are in our room we go for a walk around the Boardwalk (after 9 hours on a plane we don't feel like sitting down!). Then back to the room via Beaches and Cream to buy our mugs and an icecream!!

After our 8 hour drive down there, we check into our resort and rest for a few minutes. After grabbing some dinner at the resort, we hit the monorail loop to just soak in the feel of Disney and let our minds dream of what is coming in the days ahead.

We always do MK first and eat at Peco's Bills. We also HAVE to do parks in the order they opened (ok, I have to--DH doesn't really care!)

First day must see the castle! That is what truely convinces us we are really there. First morning is a roll and coffee on Main Street. Last day is a late lunch at CRT. Makes me feel like a princes and helps the blues we are feeling leaving.

Great thread! :goodvibes

Our first day tradition USED to be breakfast on the terrace at Tony's. Since they don't serve breakfast there anymore I guess we'll have to start a new tradition!!!

We do Chef Mickeys and ride around on the monorail to soak up the Disney atmosphere. :cool1:

We head to Downtown Disney- to soak up the DISNEY flavors, scents and sounds! Grab a quick bite at Wolfgang Pucks and back to the resort to dream about the magical adventures the coming vacation will bring! :cloud9:
Just talking about it makes me more excited for our upcoming trip!

Glad to see we all have wonderful traditions and are willing to share!

We do breakfast at Kona Cafe, hop the monorail to the MK and have dole whip. That's when we're really there. :)
