Hi i am a newbie here so I hope I am not being redundant with this post..

We have owned DVC points at AKV for a few years now but we have never stayed there at Christmas. We have gone in the past to Mickey's Very Merry Party before so I am aware of that, but any and all info on how you celebrate would be much appreciated!
We are going to mail in advance a small tree and ornaments along with paper and accessories to decorate our door.
We have not seen Osborne Lights before so I am excited to see that!

I have gone every year since '93 between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
MGM - The Osbourne Family of Dancing Lights
EPCOT - CP and all the pavilions aroung the world showcase are made up in holiday colors; one of the CM talks/presents their home countries versions Christmas
AK - holiday colors through the park
MK - The MVMCP and I am sure you saw the other decoration
Each resort - made up with decoration; each one different and espeically made for that resort. Take a monrail tour around CR, PR, and GF or take a walking tour over at BWV, BC, YC, Swan, and Dolphin.
DTD - Meet Santa for photos and special concerts at the stage area.

This last year there was some confusion on what personal decorations were allowed. DVC put the word out that no exterior balcony or door decorations were allowed. The resorts didn't seem to know what was going on and when questioned, DVC MS didn't seem to know either.

oh.. I can understand NO balcony at AKV because of animals but Ill try and see what happens.;)

There have been Xmas tree exchanges the last 8 or 9 years. We participated in 2010. Keep looking for a thread starting around the first or middle of June. The idea is that someone (usually someone checking in) brings or mails a tree and decorations to fit the resort. When they check out they leave the tree for the next family at Bell Services. The last person on the list sends it back to the person who donated. There is an envelope for the people who use it to help defray the cost of the shipment. I think when we sent it back there was 75% of the shipment cost in the envelope. It is a great idea and we are planning on it again. We will be at AKV Kidani from the 24th to the 30th. We might see you there. WDW is great at that time, even with the crowds.

We loved AKV at Christmas. The did a great job of decorating. I agree with all of the previous posters suggestions, but don't forget the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. It is great.
We especially liked heading to all the different resorts to see how they were decorated.
