Apparently they are due to launch in may? sharon :flower:

Economy is called Star Class, the premium was possibly Star Class Premier (Maybe). 33in pitch in economy and seat back IFE 36in for premium. A big jump for First choice.

Link to cabin pics Star Class

We are flying with them to the Dominican Republic in August and have also upgraded to the Premier Class. I think it looks good but I'll report back on my return.

It still looks a bit like being packed in like sardines for my liking.
Yes i agree with you we chose virgin.

The whole point is that the First Choice planes will actually have 2" more leg room than Virgin in economy and only 2" less in Star Class Premier than Virgins Premium economy for a fraction of the price.

PS I'm also going with Virgin :earboy2:

Yes i agree, but Virgin plane seems to be bigger with an upstairs and 3, 4, 3 seating, where as first choice are 2,4,2 seating. When we flew with first choice last year i felt like a sardine in a can. First choice are cheaper but you have to pay for all refreshments as with Virgin these come in with the price.

Cant really compare a 747 with a 767 for overall space, your personal space is much better though.

We fly out on Fri May 20th from Glasgow on this new service. Looks great kids are looking forward to the seat back t.v. Thanks for the pics, we hopfully get 2 seat infront of each other (4 of us)
Do you purchase drinks only ? meal free ?
Anyone know
AAAA,s

I am flying with Virgin, to Orlanda, on July 14th from Manchester.
Can anyone tell me what the plane will be and what the seating arrangements are in the standard class section.

Thanks

Andy/Alison, and OH the kids ;)

There have been links to a site for the virgin seating plans and details how to pre-book certain seats. I got rid of these because i was bumped from our VS flight and had to re book.

Anyway, if you are flying from MAN in July you will be I expect on a Gatwick config 744 (747-400)
This is a Gatwick Config plane

YOu dont make it clear who you are booked with, if VH then get straight onto them to sort seats as time is running out, if through an agent again contact them asap.

Hope you get sorted :sunny:

If given the choice now between VS and FCA I would go for FCA due to having a brand new interior product to fly on and one that is causing a good stir among enthusiasts. Lets face it the compare the interior of a 5 year old car (VS 744) against a shiny new motor (FCA 767) I would choose the same every time. The meals on FCA seemed to have been thought through quite well and lets face it soft drinks should be cheap if you have to pay. I am a great believer of banning alcohol drinks on airliners so the fact that VS offer these has no sway on me.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the info.

I booked via CO-OP travel. Therefore are you saying i should contact them to pre-book the seats i want ?

Either that or use your booking ref to contact VS direct to book seats. I booked via Skydeals and rang US Air for the seat allocation so you should be able to do this yourself.

Hope they are good uns :Pinkbounc

It all depends on which 767 you get to fly in. G-Info database has the following:-
They have four 767's
G-OOAL 767-38A was first registered on 29/03/1999
G-OOAN 767-39H was first registered on 01/04/1993
G-OOBK 767-324 was first registered on 18/11/2004 awaiting certification
G-OOBL 767-324 was first registered on 04/04/2005 awaiting certification

what is a little confusing is that on the last two, as the database has them down as year built 1995!

So, yes, you could be in a six year old car (or even a 12 year old!) with a shiny new interior, but its still a six year old 767 with less room than a 747. AND actually, the main two aircraft flying the LGW-MCO route for Virgin, G-VROM and G-VGAL are only four years old, being built in 2001.

If they are confirmed in Star Class then a VS 744 will have less pitch than the FCA 763 end of story (lets hope the roll out of the new products is complete , also the interior will be brand new including leather seats and seat back IFE that actually work. I cant see how a bigger plane or how old the airframe actually makes a different to inflight comfort.

In may G-OOBK, G-OOBL and G-OOAL will be completed the new refurbishment, i would hope that for such a premium route FCA will have one of the refurb planes..

What? less pitch in Upper Class? I don't think so.
FCA has beds does it?

Outstanding comment.

Aye and the force is with me
