First breakups...will anyone listen?

Oh gosh, I'd forgotten all about Midnight Special! LOL.

What ever happened to Crystal Gayle anyway? (Errrrmmmm, bumping too close to country now)! :scared:

Hee, this thread is making me laugh!

Unfortunately, this is Amanda's official "I'm depressed" day of the year. I'm sure this year'll be better than last, that's for sure. Last year, my friend's dog was put down a few days before. And I watched my crush go crazy over another girl. I knew her. I still do. But that's waaay off topic, and a whole new story!

I'm SUCH a rebel. I'm wearing all black today. Just to show that not EVERYONE wears pink/red on V-Day.

So, to all of you who have someone to spend this day with...lucky you! Have fun :goodvibes

I'm on a roll, 2 days without crying and/or having a major breakdown. That's progress, for sure!

UPDATE!!

I just started a thread for GLBTQ teens over on the Teen Boards. Come check it out if you like! Post a reply, start a discussion, anything! CSP are welcome, too! (Hopefully, this thread will go well over there...)

I'm glad you're getting over her well. You'll have lots of dates in life, you can't let everyone of them affect you this much.

Good luck in life. :)

No problem, everyone needs someone to lean on when they're going through troubles. You have us, the DIS. :)

Ok. Wait. Stop. Rewind. Let me get this straight... You're in high school meaning you're more than likely under 18. You were dating for under 2 weeks. And you loved her. Am I the only one who see's the issues? You don't fall deeply in love with someone after 2 weeks... You don't even learn about someone in 2 weeks. I might be coming off as a complete jerk but I guess you could look at it as being brutally honest? :confused3 If I offend you I really am sorry but once, and even though I'm gay, I dated a girl for a week and she dumped me.... I thought I was so in love lol... You just have to remind yourself that love doesn't develop that quickly and it's something that takes time and getting to know someone first. I'm gonna stop before I get flamed haha.

Actually, we've been best friends since this time last year, and we knew everything about each other (including dreams, ambitions, strenghs, and weaknesses) BEFORE we went out. I already loved her like a sister, a best friend. I had thought I was straight (until a little over a month ago) and liked this guy friend of mine. When she confessed, over the summer, that she had had a crush on me for a short while in 8th grade, I really opened my eyes. It was HER that I was REALLY in love with, not my guy friend (although I will not deny having a crush on him; I just didn't love him like that). I kept thinking about my sexuality over and over again, from when she said that to January. I finally got some sense knocked into me and realized "I'm bi and I love her". I confessed that I was bi to her, and of course, she accepted me. When I finally told her that I was falling for her, and had been for awhile, well...she admitted to liking me too and...it all happened. I asked her later when she noticed that I liked her (and she HAD noticed!) and she said awhile before we had gone out, and that she could see it in my eyes, the way I looked at her, everything. She loved me like...like real love. So, long story short, I think we were in love when we met, and I was too stupid to realize it then. (And I won't flame you, don't worry!)

OK kids, just a reminder to play nice.

We all fall in love in different steps in different stages in our life.

We are not here to judge, but to help each other.

Thanks, OrlandoMike and invisible children07! Means a lot to me. :)

Way back when I was young and fell in love for the first time, and of course, ended up with my heart stomped, someone that I knew gave me this poem. I still have it. It meant a lot to me then, but it's golden now.

Comes the Dawn

After a while you learn
the subtle difference between
holding a hand and chaining a soul,
and you learn that
love doesn't mean leaning
and company doesn't mean security,
and you begin to learn
that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises,
and you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up
and your eyes ahead,
with the grace of a woman,
not the grief of a child,
and you learn to build all of your roads
on today because tomorrow's ground
is too uncertain for plans,
and futures have a way of
falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn that
even sunshine burns
if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul,
instead of waiting for someone
to bring you flowers.
And you learn that
you really can endure...
That you really do have worth.
And you learn and you learn...
With every goodbye you learn.
