First BLT stay...amazing!

I just wanted to report on our stay at BLT. We had pixie dust flying! Upon check in I found out that we were going to be in a first floor unit. We had booked a standard view (before we know what that really was). Now I understand that I get what I book with DVC....however I was nearly in tears because I have an almost 3 year old who likes to sit on the balcony and feel "outside". We don't let her sit out there unsupervised of couse, but I will allow her out there with the door open if I'm in the living room area. This being said a patio ould not contain her! I felt way too exposed. I begged for a standard view on the 2nd or 3rd floor and was told they had nothing. They CM came back and said that she put us on the 5th floor. Upgrade!!! Wow!!! I looked at my map and saw that it was a lake view room. #7512. Well, yes you could see the lake from the right side of the balcony, but from the left you had a complete view of MK! I couldn't believe it! I'd say it was 50/50...50% laKE, 50% mk VIEW. I was ecstatic. OUr little ones were able to watch the fireworks from our room in their pjs. It was amazing. The CM did something odd, though, she told us our room number before it was ready. We called to check on the readiness of the room and they said that it would be ready in about 20 minutes. When we got there they mousekeeper was beside herself. She said that the previous members hadn't checked out until 12:30pm and she was way behind. That's not cool...I understand when we run a few minutes past checkout, but 1 1/2hours? I think they should have been charges something. Bless her heart she allowed us to come on in while she was finishing. Anyway, I'd be glad to answer any questions. We loved it. The 5th floor is awesome because of the convenience to the walkway. I think I got to the Contempo faster than Ive gotten to most other DVC central hubs. We loved everything about BLT. If someone can tell me how to add pics, I'd love to!!!

I think the OP meant that the 1st floor patios do not have railings so any child could wander if not supervised...
