First BLT Resale

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet.

I saw what I believe may be the first BLT resale posting.

It's not on our sponsor's site so I'll not post a link or the website name where I saw it.

It's 160 points...Asking price is $16,000, or $100 per point. I don't know how long it's been up.
Your guess as to why the resale before BLT has even opened. My guess is financial hardship or buyer's remorse, YMMV.

gee, so soon!.......the same thing happened with akv.

i guess you can get the founders tile or what ever it is and then sale.

i don't mean to be critical. things can happen in anyones life to cause that.

i wish them well. it is a good buy for someone!

I'll bet that contract can't close until after the owner has had a BLT vacation and used up the DP.
That website looks questionable at best. They claim:
"Only Resale Available! Ride The Monorail From/to The Lobby To/from The Theme Park!"
That's a bit misleading, IMHO, since you first have to take the foot bridge to/from the lobby before even reaching the monorail. $100 a point is still pretty good, compared to BCV, though.

I haven't seen the listing. Developer points are completely seperate and have no tie with the regular points. The owner could transfer or rent the developer points and sell the contract immediately, as long as the original yearly allotment of 160 points is intact. Any other promotional items such as cruises, AP's, etc. could also be used by the original owner. The only stipulation is that the contract must close. Disney already got there money.

OP wondering if you happen to know if contract indicates a
" cannot close until xx,xx,xxxx " date ?

It is possible that the prospective buyer's first available allotment of points may come in 2011 Use Year because this contract could be stripped of its 2009 & 2010 UY allotments of points if the current owner has a trip booked using those points that they still intend to take ( if so check-in date would have to be BLT opening date or later for a booking at either BLT or any other DVC resort for that matter ).

I worded that poorly. I simply meant that I would bet that the seller would use the developer points and strip the contract of BLT points. Therefore, he will have gotten use of 320 points total (or 160 and a cruise) for a few dollars per point plus sales fees to the Timeshare company.

5fordiz, They give no specifics on which year's points are available or anything else. The company is Sell My Timeshare Now.

Thank you dandave for that info We're keeping an eye out for BLT add-on via resale ( as many others will be too no doubt ! ) ... didn't get to purchase an add-on before increase to 100 pt minimum so will see what may turn up this way.

There were a bunch of SSR contracts up for sale prior to it's opening but likely for a different reason. Many were 100 points and it appeared the thinking was to do the add on then resell getting the developer points free.

5fordiz, You're very welcome! I would love to own at BLT, but it's not in the budget at any size contract right now. My best to you on your add-on.

i will not know until i have stayed there, but, i think i will love my blt home enough to keep it. of course, nobody knows what the future financial world will do to any of us.
