We are thinking about our DD's first birthday, coming up in October. We don't want to do a big party - just close family (so about 13-15 people total). Was thinking of taking everyone to Sesame Place for the day on a Saturday or Sunday in October as the celebration.

DD has just started watching Sesame Street and loves Elmo, Abby, Murray and the rest.

Has anyone taken a baby there at that age? Thoughts?

Is he walking? It's a really fun place, but definitely more for toddlers/preschoolers rather than babies. If the group of people has some slightly older kids it could be really fun for them, but I'm not sure your baby would get all that much out of it. It's probably a better idea for his second birthday party.

We have season passes and my daughter has been going since she is about 7 months.

Your DD can not ride most rides till she can take 3 unassisted steps (ridiculous IMO but that's the rule.). So if she isn't walking and won't enjoy the shows maybe skip and do in the spring or next year.

However the shows are fun and my DD has loved them since 7 months (not Disney quality, but fun).

They also do a Halloween party which is cute and Christmas party. Again don't expect Disney and you will be fine.

I think the water rides would be closed by then which is good IMO, we didn't do any water rides with DD till this year right around 2, we just felt it was to much.

Feel free to ask my any questions I'm happy to help if I can.

Do the other 13-15 people have a burning desire to spend time with Elmo, Bert an Ernie? I know it's not exactly on my bucket list.

I would suggest having cake at your house, and next summer bringing your 18 month old instead.

I really enjoy Sesame place! I would think that's an awesome way to celebrate your daughter's first birthday especially if she has kid cousins. Our daughter was around a year when we first went and she loved the Elmo live show and carousel!

I totally agree. I'd have cake at the house & a little family party. Then go just with your family, unless someone begs to join you.

I live not far, and have never been with my kids, even though it would have been an easy trip to make when they were little. Never was into Elmo or any of that (even though I grew up watching Sesame Street a little, there wasn't much else on tv for kids when I was a toddler). My kids never watched it.

We live close and have had season passes almost every summer for the last 7 years. I've taken kids that young, but only bc they had older siblings. I don't think it would be worth it, especially considering all the adults. if she's not walking there's not much she can do other than shows. My kids weren't that into the shows. I would wait until next summer.
