Day 5:

NJ wanted a hearty breakfast today, which worked out well because I had made PS for 9:30 at Boma, before our day at Animal Kingdom. So we had day 2 of Mickey waking us up, but we pretty much told him to shut up and went back to sleep. We missed the 9:30 but still made it there in time for breakfast, and it really was great. The little breakfast pizza and house juice could have filled me up in itself. In fact it did fill me up in itself, but I proceeded to eat everything else anyway!

Then we headed to the animal kingdom. We were both pretty curious about the safari, but didn't really have a huge amount of interest in the park in general. I know the slogan is that it's nahtazu, but why can't they just admit that it's a really freaking cool zoo?! Anyway, we got a fast pass for the safari, strolled through one of the jungle trecks, did the bugs life show, and pretty much did a round of the park. Then we did the safari, got a kick out of how everything really needs to be themed. Seriously though, I'm glad we stopped the poachers! We agreed that if we didn't have the other parks calling us we could spend the whole day there, but decided to forego it and head to another park.

We decided no to Magic Kingdom, because we thought maybe we'd go back there on our last day. Narrowed to MGM and Epcot, which we hadn't been to yet but figured we'd go to the next day, we decided to go to whichever bus came first. By the time we got to the bus stand though, we decided we'd really rather go back and catch the stuff we missed at MGM. Luckily that bus came first anyway.

This time when we entered MGM, we got a fast pass for rnr again (and again never used the thing, by the way, so I still have no idea how 0 to 60 in 2 seconds feels!). I think we also had a fast pass for millionaire at some point this day. We went to one man's dream, and did the millionaire, got some pizza at pizza planet, and that's really about it for this day. NJ was a complete stranger, and won whoever was inside $2,000. Luckily he was nearest the phone because I don't remember the question but I know I didn't know the answer....of course to NJ it was obvious and he thought it funny I didn't know. Well, for all his expertise he didn't make it into the hot seat once we got inside!

Again, we figured this could be our opportunity to catch fantasmic and rnr, but we were tuckered out as NJ likes to say. For all of my obsession with sorceror mickey we never did make it to fantasmic!

I'm pretty sure we just headed back to the resort, ate at the food court, and called it a night.

By the way, at some point early on in this trip we created our overarching philosophy for the trip. We knew that we could never do everything, and we knew that we had big lists of things we would like to do. But rather than dwell on what we didn't get to or worry about fitting it all in, we decided to check ourselves every so often to be sure we were having fun. As long as we were having fun it didn't matter one bit whether it was in a park or in our room, and it didn't matter one bit whether there was more fun to be had somewhere else. If, however, we found ourselves at any point bored or unhappy, well then it was time to go to the list and figure out what we should do next. That philosophy caused us to miss several of the so-called must dos and it also caused us to have a wonderful trip from beginning to end...I wouldn't have had it any other way, as far as I'm concerned the only must do is have fun!!

we usually do the animals at least four times a trip in......did you get to do the Dinoasaur ride.....this is awesome......Now about the zero to 65 in 2 seconds.....i did it and I am still quaking in my sneakers four weeks later.......I loved it.....scares me to pieces...but I love it.....you are right about waiting to see which bus comes first....we have done taht before....many many times......thanks so much for your report

A good day for all - and I have done get on which bus comes first - thanks for posting!

Wow, I can't believe you missed RnR. Well, it gives you great incentive for another trip. Sounds like you're having fun, and that's what's important.
