First Aid station so I can take care of my son's medical needs?

Hi. We have an 11yo with Down syndrome who has a colostomy and wears a diaper. In previous years we have gone to the diaper centers to care for him. It has been easy and quick. However, this time he is about 20 pounds heavier and much taller. I'm not sure we can get him on the tall changing tables. . :) Does anyone know if you can go to the First Aid stations to take care of needs like that? We just need a place for him to lie down so we can empty his colostomy bag and change his diaper.

Thanks so much!

Absolutely! The First Aid locations in each park have private spaces with a bed or cot. Just explain your needs when you stop in and they'll provide you with the appropriate space for what you need to do.

Enjoy your vacation!

Yes - tell them what you need.
They have room with various heights of cots. Some might be too high, so just let them know what you need. This is an example of one of the low cots, but they have various heights. image.jpg

That is good to know! My DD has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and POTS as well. She'll be in a wheelchair, but if she got dizzy or needed to lie down for a few minutes, I'm guessing they'd let her do that (with me sitting by her).

that's not a problem. It's what First Aid is for.

An adult could stay at First Aid alone (unless, like my DD, they can't be alone). A child would have a parent/guardian with them.
We have done it multiple times while my DD recovers from a seizure.

yes you can go to first aid to lie down if you are not feeling well for a while ( I have stayed for over an hour with no one even telling me I had to leave) they are so good there I am there a lot and have never had any problems at all with any one trying to hurry me out.
