First a Little Pomp & Circumstance, then a Whole Lot of Disney Dining! COMPLETE

You know how to build the anticipation for your actual VN review!! I'm excited to be going back there and perhaps trying something new so I look forward to the next chapter of your review! :cool1:

I'm definitely an OG lover ... mmmm for the minestrone soup with breadsticks dipped in alfredo. Yum. I have never tried the zeppole's but now that you have drawn my attention to them I have to say that I don't know how I could have let those little babies go under the radar up to this point in life. popcorn:: My DH loves the gnocchi soup but never seems to get enough of the gnocchi in the bowl unlike your hearty version in your photo. :confused3

Great warmup for the Via Napoli review! I have to say, I loved that prosciutto and melon pizza, and I didn't even notice how difficult it was to eat (but that could be because I eat pizza with a knife and fork ). In fact, seeing that picture makes me miss Via Napoli. :goodvibes

I haven't tried the zeppole at Via Napoli, and I've never been to Olive Garden, but the food there looks better than expected! As for Boston, I've been there multiple times, but I've never been to an Italian restaurant there! I'm not surprised that it put Disney's Italian food to shame. ;)

 And you say you are a New Yorker! :crazy2: :rotfl2:

Yet another stellar update :thumbsup2
Mouth watering photos, can't wait to get to the main course and hopefully the cute Italian waiters :rotfl:

You are a sweetheart princess: for keeping us updated on dining reviews and TR! I love love love it!

Yes we are going back again, Oct 18-28 and I will probably start my review a few days before we leave...dont want to jinx myself and start too early. This is a huge birthday for me, 40 (OMG) and I just have to spend it in WDW! And of course it is gonna be LIVE! :thumbsup2 Cant let you guys down right :lmao:

Dec trip is gonna be a blast, the 6-9, and while it isnt going to be live it is going to be HUGE....we are meeting KatMark and her husband and their son and his girlfriend there so I will have 6x's the dining reviews and pictures! They have all promised that I can photo their food and take notes on their descriptions :rotfl:

We plan on heading back, just Todd and myself, Feb 15-18 and again in May for Todd's big 4-0.

Need to put that AP to good use this time! :thumbsup2

Just spotted your post - like many others on this threads ..... Soooooo excited for another MickeyNicki review :cool1:

Oh my, this is just the pre-cursor to the Via Napoli review and my mouth is watering already popcorn::

Shoot, I've probably already missed you Joh, but just in case I haven't...

:wave2: Have a Great Trip to Florida!!! :beach:

Guess where I had lunch yesterday??? ;) :rotfl:

Wait, you have never been to an Olive Garden and you have been to Boston several times but have never been to one of their many Italian restaurants??? You poor, deprived child. :sad2:

Or wait, are you instead implying that you don't like Italian food??? In which case, I would have to seriously question your sanity, Donald. :crazy2: :rotfl:

Thanks Linda! I'm putting the finishing touches on Part II now, so will have it up soon. :thumbsup2

I never said I was a good New Yorker. ;) :rotfl:

Actually, I love Italian food. I think the reason I've never been to an Olive Garden is because the closest one is in Manhattan (where there are much more exciting restaurant options if we're in the city). As for Boston, whenever we're there we always find ourselves drawn to seafood or Asian restaurants instead. :confused3 Now I feeling like driving up to Boston for some Italian food.

I really like the pizza at Via Napoli. The piccante pizza (topped with spicy sausage, broccoli rabe, tomato and mozzarella) was very good, as was the carciofi (topped with articoke, truffle oil, pecorino and mozzarella). I'm a fan of thin crust pizzas, which might be why I especially enjoy the pizzas there. :thumbsup2

With only 3 reviews left in my Dining Report, I’m already beginning to feel the “End of Dining Report, No WDW Trip Being Planned in the Near Future” blues. :sad1: But it just so happens that my “at the office” boss (who also happens to be my DH ;)) happens to be out of our office all day today, so what’s that saying...while the cat’s away, the mouse will play??? :lmao: So anyway in an attempt to cheer myself up (and perhaps also a stalling tactic ;) ), I did a little bit of investigation and discovered that out of the more than 60 people who have posted on my Dining Report thread, nearly 2/3 of you are planning to visit Disney World before the end of this year. That means I have potentially 40 or so Dining Reports to look forward to in the near future!!! :cool1:

So on the behalf of those of us in the 1/3 group, I am going to attempt to make a list of Disney Dining Report poster’s with upcoming trips so that we can live (and eat & drink) vicariously through you.

SEPTEMBER

Smiling Chesire Cat- Rachel and son (is that right?) will be returning to Disney World around Sept. 26???

Okay, that’s all I have so far for the rest of 2012, plus January and February 2013. If I have missed anyone, have any mistakes (my math skills aren't what they used to be ;) ), or if you have any information you would like to add/change then please let me know. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for taking the time to compile this list! I'm so excited about all the trips coming up from so many dining reviewers.:dance3:

As for me, my son Chase and I are booked for a 5-night stay at Riverside beginning Sept. 25th. But we haven't bought airfare yet so that could change by a day or two. My husband, Brian, may join us if his work schedule allows for it.:thumbsup2

As for Via Napoli, we are fans of the pepperoni pizza too. I've got to try the dessert next visit. I also share your love of Olive Garden. Have you tried to Olive Garden dressing you can buy at Sam's? Very yummy!

Your Lunch at Via Nappoli looks good! I'm sure my hubby would try the Zeppolis as he used to make them!!

Unfortunately this did not help me decide between Le Cellier and Via Nappoli lol!! :rotfl2: I'm actually leaning towards Via Nappoli as I am sure we will get steak a few other places and good Pizza is very hard to come by! Especially where my hubby now lives!

Don't feel bad - I've only ever been to Olive Garden twice! I'm pretty sure I liked my food both times (although admittedly it's been years since the second visit!) but in general I'm not a big fan of Italian food because I don't like red sauce (unless it's a pizza).

I'm really hoping to try Via Napoli one day (not on the schedule for our upcoming trip) but neither me nor my DH are huge fans of thin crust pizza so I'm not sure how much it will impress us. Both times I've been in Italy I've eaten as the Romans do and partaken of the paper thin crust but I'm almost ashamed to say I'd rather eat a fluffy pizza from Papa Johns :sad2:. I do think brick oven pizzas are superior to most though, so VN definitely has that going for it in my eyes.

Cute waiters, pizza and Rosa Regale ....... Now that's what I call a lunch ;)
Oh by the way, there is no branch of Olive Garden in the UK, well actually that's not strictly true.
If you google it there are many restaurants called the Olive Garden over here but they arent part of the chain you know and love; I'm surprised they don't get sued

Glad to see that your VN meal would have received a Peter Pan had it not been the 2nd Italian meal of the day - good enough for me!!! :thumbsup2 That pizza looks - wow! I don't think there is any kind of pizza that I wouldn't eat...they all sound lovely.

You didn't disappoint with dessert. I gotta try those. Unfortunately, Em loves the gelato there so I can only hope that DH will share some zeppoles with me.

Omg your pizza and zeppoles look out of this world!! This is one of the meals I'm most looking forward to (hopefully DBf doesn't get jealous of the cute waiters ;))

Off topic from your dining report, but since you are from my area, I was wondering where you flew out of and who you used? We used air tran our of BMI last time, but keep going back and forth on who to use this time. Thanks for the heads up on the zeppoli from Olive Garden, looks great!
