First 2 week trip on the table dining plan.

Hi All,

Our family of 4 x 2 adults & 2 kids 15 and 17years old. Will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside in August 2016. This will be our first holiday on the table dining plan.

Can you kindly recommend some good restaurants to look at so we can look to book on the 180 day mark.

2 things we really want to do for our kids is the Cinderella Table and be our guest for dinner but apart from that any ideas would be much appreciated. We like everything apart from seafood to be honest.

If anyone has a plan that they might have done for a 2 week stay that they would be happy to share I would really appreciate it.

Since you're staying at Port Orleans, do something like T-Rex at Disney Springs since it's easy to get there from the resort. At Epcot, we like Rose & Crown and Biergarten. My kids loved 50's Prime Time and Sci-Fi at Hollywood Studios, also.

Since it's 2 weeks, I think I'd shell out for waterparks.

I'm probably just going to throw out a bunch of places that we like, since you haven't mentioned your itinerary. It will help a lot if you select which parks you will be at each day before you make your ADRs. That way you won't waste needless time going from one park to another just for a meal. Or God forbid, you end up with an ADR at a non recommended park and don't have park hoppers. We generally eat at the park we will be in that day, or at a close by resort. We save our dinner shows or DTD dining for one of our non park days.

So here are some of our favorites:

MK: BOG, LTT(lunch). Skipper Canteen will be opening before Christmas- you might want to try it.

Epcot: Biergarten, Spice Road Table, Rose & Crown, La Hacienda

DHS: HBD, 50s PTC, Mama Melrose

AK: Tusker House.

Resorts: Boma, Sanaa, the Wave, Ohana, GFC, Citricos, Artist Point, Jiko

DTD: Raglan Road, the Boathouse, Morimotos.

Dinner Show: HDDR

Note that some of these are signatures and require 2 TS credits. Seeing that you have teens, I didn't add in character meals. You can find menus for every restaurant on the official site or at Allears.net.

We are first timers, also staying at POR and with the DxDDP. I would suggest that you take a good look at the most up to date online menus you can find to see what your family really would like to eat. Both the Disney Dining Reservation website and allears have some of the most up to date menus. Food is really subjective and personal but these are the restaurants that I most enjoy and generally have found consistent with good service and good food:

Animal Kingdom: Yak & Yeti (TS); Boma Buffet (at nearby Animal Kingdom Lodge - quick bus ride)
Magic Kingdom: Be Our Guest dinner (TS). Look for the new Skippers Canteen. Kona Kafe (at nearby Poly Resort - quick monorail ride)
Hollywood Studios: Sci-Fi (great atmosphere but food less wonderful. Good sandwiches, burgers & shakes).
Epcot: best Table Service options of all the parks. San Angel Inn, Teppan Edo, Tokyo Dining, Biergarten, Restaurant Marrakesh. I've now had 2 good dining experiences at Coral Reef for lunch. Book an early lunch at eg 11:30 am for better chance for close to tank table, better service and better food IMO. The later the ressie, the more backed up they become with seating.
Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney): Raglan Road.

The above are also 1 credit Table Service restaurants. Signature restaurants (eg California Grill, Yachtsman, Le Cellier, etc) require 2 credits from your dining plan.

We just did a 2 week stay in September and for TS we ate at 'Ohana dinner and breakfast, biergarten, hoop Dee Doo, trattoria al Forno (twice), 50's prime time, crystal palace, captains grille, nine dragons, raglan road, chefs de France and Teppan Edo. I did a review on here, I enjoyed most of them. The other place I love that we couldn't get into was Sci-Fi. I was very surprised with trattoria al Forno, it was very good and I highly recommend it.

Definitely look at menus before making your choices but here are a few of our favs-

MK- Be Our Guest, CHH (QS), Crystal Palace (breakfast)
EP- Via Napoli, Biergarten, Teppan Edo
AK- Tusker House breakfast, Flame Tree BBQ (QS)
DHS- Hollywood & Vine has new themed meals that change every few months- could be fun to look into (we will be trying in March), Sci Fi
Boardwalk- ESPN club
Disney Springs- TRex Cafe, Wolfgang Puck
Resorts- Ohana (breakfast & dinner), The Wave, Kona Cafe, 1900 PF, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Boma

I would definitely look into doing Hoop Dee Doo Review for a dinner show.
