Firm Check in Week 6

It's my absolute favorite with Emily Welsh!! Its so much fun. It is from the original BSS2 3 pack from the infomercial.

Go for it. She is so cute and fun! It uses the fanny lifter, weights and it does use the sculpting stick, but I bet you could do it easily without. I can't remember what all she uses it for. I think there are some ribcage pullovers and chest presses using it, but you can easily use weights for that. She uses it for balancing on the leg presses, but there are plenty of older video's that do leg presses and don't have sculpting sticks.

I don't think you will be sorry. It's great!! So are all of the ones from the infomercial from BSS2.
 
Also,
the ones you are supposed to the most are the Cardio & Sculpt ones. There are less of these than any others.

Here is what I have in the C&S category. There just aren't many out there. I am going to be getting volume 1 & 4 soon. Those are both C&S too.

Cardio Sculpt - BSS1
Complete Aerobics & Weight Training - BSS2
Complete Body Sculpting BSS3
Total Muscle Shaping BSS3
FIRM Strength - older
FIRM Cardio - Older

I love FIRM Strength and Cardio. You can do them back to back two days in a row because they were designed as cross trainers and don't work the exact same muscle. They are 1 hour each with abs, some floor work and are very well rounded. They aren't as much fun as the newer ones with the better music and clothes but they aren't as bad as the ones done in the 80's. They are from the 90's and were a nice addition. I got them from Collagevideo.

Also, on the list that I posted, Cardio Killer 2 is not C&S. The person who typed it did it wrong it is just Cardio.


I hope this helps some. I really love the 2 new ones from BSS3 I got too! That is what I love about the FIRM. THere are so many great workouts I can't get bored.

Yesterday turned into a rest day for me because i wasn't quite sure what to do with my workout and didn't feel like doing AS. I did have a lot to do anyway with laundry and cleaning so it wasn't a bad idea to call it a rest day.

Today I did CS with Allie, and she is turning into my favorite instructor. I find her easier to follow than Jen. And i was able to add a whole 5 minutes to the tape which takes me past the leg presses.

TY for the advice on BS. It may take a little bit to find a schedule that works for me tape wise, but I'll get it down. I couldn't understand why they had BS listed as 2 days in a row though.



ZerasPride: My Dh says he can see visible results already. Its hard to tell for me, but my bathing suit is a bit loose around my but and pulls down farther than its suppossed to. So I'm taking it as a good sign. I can also finally fit into jammie pants i bought over Christmas, I still need to lose a bit more in my thighs b4 they're really comfy but i can sleep in em without fear of ruining em.
I have my next official measurement day on Friday so we'll see what happens then. I'll post here my new measurements when I'm done.

TigerBear & Melanie: I'm glad to know I'm not the only 1 with shaky legs after doing lower body. I have no idea how long it'll take me to get unshaky.

Thanks for your quick & supportive response. I was "h*ll bent" on buying that DVD. Sometime I scare myself when I set my mind on something & become like a woman-possessed until I do what I set out to do. But come to think of it, that was how I lost 65 lbs. & started a daily exercise routine, at the age of 49. I just had to wait until I made up my mind.
I ordered Complete Aerobics & Weight Training from overstock.com. Only $14.79 (inc. shipping!)...how can I go wrong.
Now I'll be like a little kid until it arrives in the mail, but I was too "frugal" to pay for speedy shipping. I'll see how it goes without the sculpting stick or maybe there is a sculpting stick in my future. Thanks, again Melanie! SGG
 

FIRMIES!
Quick post, because it's another "work calls" day. I did Cardio Sculpt Blaster with Lisa Kaye. Boy, I still need alot of work to master this tape. But Melanie's list has helped me understand that I am truly comfortable with the "Sculpting" tapes & less comfortable w/ the "Aerobics" tapes. So I guess I'm entering a new exercise arena. I'll try to fit Cardio Sculpt w/ Allie into my weekend & I'm sticking w/ Cardio Sculpt Blaster until I can distinguish an A step from an L step, in my sleep. Looking forward to the arrival of Complete Aerobics & Weight Training, hopefully sometime next week.

Morning firmies. Well the cold is just about gone. Was taking DS to doctor's yesterday so I didn't get to post and really felt lousy. Now this am just put on my workout clothes when DD got up. On the positive side I finally went to overstock.com and got a few more tapes to add to my collection. Hopefully with the clocks changing Sat. DD will start sleeping later. I really feel it when I don't work out for a couple of days. Have Jury duty Monday so my compulsive, anal self can't start the next thread.
 
I did Cardio Sculpt this morning. It is not one of my favorites. However, I absolutely LOVE doing the leg lifts with weights. Talk about tough!! :D

Happy Friday FIRMies!

This morning I did body sculpt (upper body). I think I get up too early because I meant to do lower body this morning and it took me a few minutes into the routine to realize I was working the wrong parts of my body! It was no big deal but I really wanted to do lower body this morning. Next week I'll do two lower body work outs to make up for it.

I'm pretty sure i did promise measurements and since they are pretty respectable I'll go ahead and post them . I'm pretty happy with them and I expect next month to be even better.

Measurements for 4/2/04:

**Chest: 48.5 in (down .5 in)
**Biceps: 16.25 in (down .5 in)
**Thighs: 30 in (up .75 in)
**Calves: 19 in (same as last month)
**Waist: 44.5 in (down 2.5 in)

(NEW) Hips/But: 51 in.


I measure myself officially once a month. And The Firm tapes have really made a dent in my hips area in ust a few weeks, so I'm excited bout that.

Today, I'm doing BS. Lower & Upper Body with my break in between . Might be back later. But if not I hope y'all have a great weekend.

Hi FIRMies,

I haven't been here yet this week because I've had a terrible cold :( (s&k's mom, I had made it all winter without a cold too and then whamo I got this one and it sure has been miserable), but I'm finally starting to feel better. Monday an dTuesday both turned into rest days for me but I did manage to get in Super Body Sculpt on Wed. and I walked the treadmill yesterday. This morning I did Complete Aerobics & Weight Training and I made it through with a few little pauses to blow my nose. I am starting to get some of the moves down on this tape and it is quickly becoming a favorite. I really like the tapes from BSS1 and BSS2 a lot more than the really old tapes I have! Tomorrow will probably be a treadmill day for me (the last day of week 2 in the Couch Potato to 5K training) and hopefully I'll get in a FIRM tape on Sunday.

It wasn't planned, but today became an off day - breaking the Friday tradition of WATP w/ DH. He did Ab Sculpt instead. First day off in a week, and it's been a very stressful work week. I'm gearing up for a weekend crunch. One day WILL be Cardio Sculpt w/ Allie & hopefully the other day will be a long Sculpting tape.

Congrats to Octoberbride03 on those great results esp. 2.5 inches in the waist --gives you "braggin' rights".
If s&k'smom can't start the thread on Mon. AM, I'll try to do it.

I had a great workout w/ Allie. Saturday AM doing Cardio Sculpt. Maybe I needed that day off more than I realized. This tape could become a weekend favorite.

Yesterday, I did Total Sculpt w/ Jen after having been down with the flu most of the week. Whew!:faint: I barely got through it, but I am glad that I completed it.

Good afternoon FIRMies!

It's been a very busy weekend but I've been on track. Saturday I did BSS1 cardio sculpt with Allie and made it through 40 minutes of the tape. Which I'm happy about.

Today I did BSS1 ab sculpt with Lisa Kaye and did the advanced moves. They are tough but I made it through.

Congratulations to Octoberbride for the inches lost. Keep up the great work!!!

I hope everyone is doing well and has a great Sunday.

Yesterday I decided to do one of my old tapes - a non Firm tape. It is called Your Personal Best with Elle McPherson (Karen Voight is the instructor). I forgot how much I like this tape! It is full body circuit training. The aerobic sections are athletically inspired (football, basketball, swimming, skating, kick boxing) and it is set in Hawaii - the scenery is beautiful!! I think I am going to start using this one every week too. I am totally sore today - I think it was too much to do Body Sculpt back to back with this one.

Wow, its Sunday already. Sorry I haven't been around all weekend to post, but the weekend flew by.

Friday- Not sure if I posted, but I did Total Muscle Shaping.

Saturday-I did about 15 minutes of Super Cardio Mix and gave up. So I did Fat Blasting Cardio and Lower Body Sculpt II. I bought ankle weights to add to lower body II and I think I should have started with 1 pounds. My knees are killing me today.

Today is my rest day. Glad because my knees are so sore! I sure hope they feel better tomorrow.

TigerBear- Wouldn't it be nice if the firm had Hawaii as its scenary!!! Sounds like a great tape.

Lisa- Congrats on the advanced moves on Absculpt and getting through 40 minutes. You are doing terrific!!

Toystoryduo- Glad you are starting to get better. Having the flu is not fun.

Sue-I always do well after a nice day off. My next workout is so efffective.

Cheryl- Glad you are feeling better. Everyone seems to be sick this week. I agree that BSS1 & BSS2 are so much better than the old stuff. Wait till you try BSS3. I really love it!

Oct Bride- Way to go on those measurements. The FIRM is really working its magic. Keep up the great work!
