Firm Check In Week 4

Happy Friday Firmies :jester:

I've just finished my 3rd CS workout this week. I am actually getting the moves down, though still a bit behind Allie. I'm letting my knees dictate how far down with the Lunge moves till i get better or they get looser, whichever comes first.
I also did my WATP tape with weights b4 i did CS. That was a smart move. I think I'll keep it like that for awhile, at least till i can do more than 10 minutes of it.
I also plan to practice the Lunges using the blue step outside the tape untill i get the hang of it. Since i can hardly do them right now, it'll only be 4-5 times each leg till i can get them lower and somewhat proper form. God knows that'll take awhile.

Lisa: I love my Pilates routine. Its main purpose is to work the abs and core muscles, but while it does that it sends more oxygen to the spinal column stretching out the back. When i finish a routine, it makes me feel nice and stretched and evened out. Its also great for the joints, which is why i started with Pilates first. My knees feel better than they have in years, and the ankle i broke 5 years ago feels just about normal and hardly ever swells anymore.

s&k: I haven't tried the Firm Believer's Club cause it costs too much money. I think what they offer is great, but at $30.00 a month I think I'll get my support for the tapes right here.


Next 2 days are rest days for me. So everybody have a great weekend.

No Firm today :( I am helping my Dad move from one apartment to another and I figured that ought to be enough work for one day. Especially since steps are involved. I'm going to try to do Maximum Cario Burn tomorrow morning but it will depend on if I am really sore from all the moving today.

Good Saturday morning!

Today I did Complete Aerobics and Weight Training.

Amanda- I bet you will get a great workout today helping your dad. Steps definately get those legs toned. Have fun!

Maureen- Great job getting through the 3 CS tapes this week. It will get easier and easier the more you do it. Definately let your knees be the guide. Make sure your knees are over your ankles and not your toes. Use your heel to push off, not your toes. Try wiggling your toes in your shoes. Keep up the great work!

Danicaw-Glad you made it all the way through. I have thought the same sometimes when half way into it. I think I can't make it, but then find the strength. I did the Firm Sept and Oct and took a break, then this time this is my 8th week. I started out with 3 & 5 and used 3 on light and medium, and 5's on heavy. Once my muscles felt like it was too easy, I bought an 8 pound weight. I really felt it the first 2-4 workouts and it got easier. I am again starting to think about 10lb weights now. On some, not all of the exercises I am feeling like I could go a little higher. It' didn't take too long before I went up to 8. Listen to your body, you want to push the muscles but only if you have good form. Don't rush it if your not ready.

Tracy-Glad you are enjoying the BSS2 system! They are just so fun! Glad DH is getting his money's worth!!

S&K's mom- I like the Firm Believer's club. Somewhere on one of the FIRM posts I had a 30 day free membership where you could try it. I like it because there is lots of info on form and how to do the exercises right. Hope this helps.

How strange. I know I posted yesterday but my post isn't here. Well I did do FIRM ab scuplt and even incorporated some of the harder advanced moves into it so I'm proud of that!

Today was FIRM BSS1 cardio sculpt and that felt great as always. Today makes 11 straight days FIRMing for me so that's exciting!

This week I only did tapes twice. I did hours and hours of yard work and was too pooped to do more. Yesterday I did Body Sculpt. I think y'all are right - its the weights that really make you feel it! I need to devise a plan for this next week. I admire so many of you for waking up early to exercise. I think I might give that a shot. When I used to go to the gym it just wasn't feasible.
 
Hi guys!

I'm so sorry I missed posting yesterday--it's been a busy few days. Ds8's baseball season has begun and dh is a coach and I'm Team Mom!:rolleyes: I've also been working on the scenery for ds's 2nd grade play and on his class's float for the Book Parade! Don't these kids just do readin', writin' and 'rithmetic anymore?!

It's been a real busy few days, but I have been FIRMing, and checking this thread to see how everyone is doing!

Yesterday was Total Sculpt + Abs and my Cool It Off stretching DVD (OMG, I feel SO GOOD when I do that stretching!), and this morning was MCB + Abs (Hey Lisa, that stands for Maximum Cardio Burn--I just get sick of writing it out!:p ) and the step/floor sections of Calorie Killer. As I've mentioned before, I have horrible insomnia and the past two mornings I've been up by 4am--I figured I'd use that time to my advantage and workout a little harder! Tomorrow is a rest day.

I would love to give you each an individual shout out (that sounds weird coming out of my mouth--I'm 37 years old!), but please know that I'm always thinking of my wonderful FIRM Friends and how much sharing our journey towards better health together means to me! Please excuse my sentimentality and sappiness, but you all mean so much. Ask Lisa (Zeras Pride), as I've shared with her the fact that I don't get a lot of support for my lifestyle change at home (whine whine, crab crab...!) I've been such a Grumpus lately except when I'm here, and having you all "with me" is really keeping my spirits up. I really love you guys!:hug:

Well...Okay...Now that was carthartic! I hope I didn't freak you guys out too much--I believe my emotions got the best of me for a little bit...I'm sorry!:( I promise I'll be better and a little more coherent tomorrow. I think I just needed to tell you all how important you are to me, and how much I care.

Back to reality tomorrow, FIRMies, I swear!

Ahh - That makes me feel so good! :D Please tell him I said thank you! There is just something about this picture. I think if I am ever in need of match.com again, I will definitely have to use it. ::yes::

I'm checking in for Sunday afternoon. Plese do a little cyber dance with me as I celebrate losing 2.5 pounds this week and grabbing my 40 pound clippie! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I have official lost 42 pounds and feel just great! I know the success I am having is partly do the support I get here on WISH. As Kim so eloquently put it, you all mean so much to me and I hope I give at least half of the support and encouragement back to you that you all give to me!

Tigerbear - I have to agree with Kim's son, you pic is just strickingly beautiful. You are very photogenic!

Kim - I just sent you another pm to check on you before I read this thread. PM me whenever you get a chance. :hug: Oh, thanks for telling me what MCB stands for - that was driving me crazy! :)

I wanted to let you all know that DH is now working out with me. Today is his second day on the exercise bike. It's just great working out with him. I do one of my FIRM tapes while he peddles away. It's so cute and he says he likes it so hopefully he'll be consistent with it.

FIRMIES!
I'm back from a great week at WDW. Unfortunately, the exercising didn't go as planned. As always, we walked ALOT. We brought Ab Sculpt on VHS with us, but alas, we got a re-furbished OKW unit & had a DVD player. DH does AbScuplt alot more than I do, so he wrote out the routine, from memory. We both did it twice, but we agreed that it just wasn't the same without Lisa Kay. I never made it to the exercise room. My only real chance was on our last full day, but DS(9) wanted to go in the pool & I jsut didn't feel comfortable leaving him at the pool alone, while I exercised.
We landed yesterday AM & I managed to squeeze in Upper & Lower Body from Super Body Sculpt on Saturday afternoon. This morning, I did Cardio Sculpt & I really feel it in my arms.
I never want to come back from WDW & this trip was no exception. But I did really miss the FIRM & I plan to go full guns all next week.
