Good morning FIRMies!
I found myself up earlier than usual again so I thought I would start the 14th week thread. Today is a rest day for me. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!:Pinkbounc

Tracy:wave2:

Hey there everyone. Another week! Everyone is doing such a fantastic job! Week 14 - Woo hoo!!

I did Total Muscle Shaping today. I didn't take a rest day this weekend, and I didn't want to loose a Cardio/Sculpt day so I am waiting till tomorrow to rest. I couldn't finish all the reps on some of the upper body today, so I can tell my body is asking for a rest day.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning firmies, today was cardio sculpt blast with Lisa Kay and yesterday was standing legs (OMG) that is the toughest. My two new tapes came in so I hope to do them tomorrow and Wednesday. I was thinking of you guys on Friday, my sister gave me the nicest compliment. We had gone to the park with her and I had shorts on. And she said to me, you have not celluite on your legs (ok I know I spelt that wrong). I thought finally those flippin squats are paying off!

Hi guys! Just checking in. Mel, Tracy and s&k'smom, you guys are doing great. I appreciate reading about your work outs. They inspire me!

This morning I did cardio sculpt blaster with Lisa Kay just like s&k'smom. I love this one. I wasn't even that tired when I finished it so I think the super work outs I'm doing are helping give me more strength. I was even able to do the hops and jumps which I have never even attempted before. No need to follow my girl Libby in the back anymore! :)

I ordered my own Super Body Sculpt and Super Cardio Sculpt today from the FIRM website. I'm very excited about it and I'm sure my friend would like her DVDs back soon as well!

Have a great evening everyone!

:wave2: I would love to join in on this. I have been collecting firm tapes and have been doing them faithfully the last two weeks. I am happy with the results I'm getting, and I am gaining muscles like crazy.

This afternoon I did cardio sculpt blast. What a workout. I was confident enough that I did all the jumps and hops.

Sheree - are you following me girlie? ;) Of course I'm just kidding! It's nice to see one of my SBD buddies over here. Welcome to FIRMing!!!!! Isn't cardio blaster a great work out? I did the same work out this morning.

Be warned though, working out with the FIRM can be very very addictive! I actually have to force myself to take a break from work outs every once in a while. Congrats on seeing progress already! You will be amazed at your continued results. Post with us often! :)

Good morning FIRMies,
Today will be Maximum Cardio Burn with Allie. I decided to DIS first and workout later. We're going to take the kids to see Shrek 2 so I better go workout now. Have a great day!!!

Tracy:wave2:

Morning, today was Firm Cardio. I don't have ankle weights so some of the moves I had to modify. I hope to actually pick some up today and an exercise mat. My Dh pulled up our old rug yesterday and I was so excited to be working on the wood floor, well I forgot I would need a mat so needless to say it kinda hurt but not bad (I just like to whine!). Firm sculpt tomorrow.

Good Tuesday morning everyone,

Today is a rest day for me! It's also that TOM so it couldn't have fallen on a better day. Sleeping in was good today as I could hardly get out of bed as it was. Even with our chirping tiny red bird that sits on the swing set and sings all morning.

I had such tempatations to cheat and have hot fudge and ice cream last night. I talked myself out of it and was so glad to see DH finished it up last night. That hot fudge must be on my list of RED light danger-keep out of the house foods. The feelings to have it last night were so intense. I had weigh in last night, so it was easy to try to talk myself into it. I'll have to have him hide it or something.

Tracy- Have fun at Shreck 2 - We saw it on Saturday night and it was good.

Sheree- Welcome to the FIRM thread! It's so great to have you posting here with us.

Lisa- Keeping my fingers crossed you get your DVD's soon. Keep up the great work, it feels good to get to leave Libby in the dust huh!!

S&K's mom-Great job on the compliment. Keep the squats going- they really work!! Glad your video's came in!! Have fun doing them. Its so much fun getting a new workout. It keeps everything exciting and new!!

Today was a rest day for me also. I did a whole lot of walking today though. So much so that my legs are stiff. Have a good night everyone.

Hi Firmies:)

Haven't been around lately due to starting my new job. So far its going well, and I'm learning all kinds of stuff. My workouts have had to be re-evaluated cause last week i tried to a whole workout after completing a 6 hr day and found out i couldn't do it.

So the bad news is that i'm not in as good a shape as i thought after doing BSS1 for the past couple of months.

The Good news is, that if i hadn't been doing BSS1 for the past couple of months, I'm pretty sure I'd be totally incapacitated right now by stiffness and soreness. i'm fiarly stiff in the legs as it is LOL.

The past couple of days I've been doing stuff on the floor of my store and learning my way around, and in the course of whatever i was doing at the time, I can tell you that my butt has performed a couple hundred hover squats. TG I already knew how to do em or my butt's be sore too right now LOL.

My arms seem to fairing the best and i did do BS-Upper Body this morning. it was a little harder than usual even with the new weights, but i did OK. Not sure when I'm going to be able to go back the Lower Body part, my legs are too stiff and my back too sore for the time being. I hope to do As tomorrow night after work. We'll see how it goes. With luck I'll be able to go back to CS and Lower Body next week since i'll be working fewer hours. may take longer, but i will definitely go back to them when i am ready.

I'll post here when i can, hopefully more often than i have been lately.

Sheree: welcome to the thread. Hope you get as addicted as i am becoming.

Good Wednesday Morning FIRMies!:sunny:

Reading this thread got me so psyched and I just had to join in all your FUN FIRM TALK this morning! I pulled out CAWT, heavied up on the weights, and had a blast as Emily kicked my tail!
Sometimes I forget how much I love Gettin' Down With The Fanny Lifter!:cool1:

Hi Octoberbride! Ahhhhh, I knew there was some reason for doing all those dang Hover Squats! Good luck with your new job, and I'm sure once you've settled into your new routine, you'll find the time to FIRM! You've done so well and have been so committed, and I know you'll continue to do your best! Way To Go!!!

Hi Sheree'! I used to FIRM all the time, and it got me in GREAT shape! (Long story short--I lost 110 pounds, and the FIRM was a HUGE part of my exercise program!) I'm doing mostly Cathe Friedrich workouts now, but I still love to read about all my FIRM buddies and how well they're doing! Their determination and successes really help keep me motivated! I know you'll enjoy it here and I can't wait to hear about all your accomplishments, too! WELCOME WELCOME!:wave2:

Hi Mel! Ooooooooooo! You are SOOOOO GOOOOOD for resisting that ice cream and hot fudge! :mickeybar :worship: Ds and I just made a doughnut run yesterday...:rolleyes1 I hope you enjoyed your rest day--I know you'll be back at it today! Oh, after you mentioned Cathe's Bootcamp the other day, I just had to order it! A lot of people said they've gotten great results adding that to their rotations, so I'm gonna give it a go! It looks tough!:scared:

Hey s&k'smom! I'm glad to hear you're doing so well and having fun! Do you have hardwood floors under your carpeting? I'm so jealous--I love the look of hardwood, but dh (whom I refer to as LEADWALLET) does not like the $$$ that comes with them! Keep up all your hard work--you're jammin' baby!

Hi Tracy! It's great to see that you're doing such an awesome job! I love MCB, and Melanie is quite aquainted with the jones I have for Allie's workouts! I always found her so motivating. You wrote that you were thinking of trying Cathe Freidrich for variety or as a plateau-breaker, and I think that's great! She's tough but fun, and I (like Mel) really believe in variety and muscle confusion! If you ever have any questions, I'd be more than happy to help! ( www.cathe.com ) Keep on truckin', Tracy!

Lisa my WISH Sis! Bad news, I never found that Hunka-Hunka Burnin' Lifeguard that I was looking for the other day! DANG!!! But I did have a good time, got some color (yes, I know tanning is bad, but I do wear sunscreen!), and got to wear my new SIZE 6 bathing suit!!! Did I just type SIZE 6?!!!!:cheer2: Lisa, I think I have run out of adjectives to describe how proud I am of you and all your accomplishments! You have left me speechless! I wish you were here so that I could give you the BIGGEST HUG IN THE WORLD!!! Keep groovin' girlfriend!

Take good care, FIRMies, and make today your best!

Love to all!:grouphug:

Morning firmies, I'm a little late this am as I had to take DS for blood work and God bless him he did it. Today was one of the new tapes firm sculpt and it's about an hour long and I got in 40+ minutes before DS woke up. So I did some crunches on my own to get in a bit of ab work. I asked DH for a new pair of workout sneakers for my birthday which I can't believe I'm excited about. Of course got to Walmart yesterday and got everything for DD's birthday but forgot the exercise mat!!

Good Wednesday morning to all my fellow FIRMies!!!!

I just love reading our thread, it's so motivating! I can't believe I forgot to post yesterday! I did Super Body Sculpt (upper and lower) boy did it kick my butt!! This morning I have taken a much needed rest break. My legs, knees and booty are thanking me!

s&k'smom - you are doing so well. Congrats on the new FIRM tape and the new sneakers. It's funny what makes us exercise geeks happy isn't it?

Kim - my WISH-sis, it's so nice to see you posting with us again!!!! I'm glad our thread motivated you to pull out a FIRM work out. I know Cathe's work outs are much more intense and you've peaked my interest with them. I'll definitely be asking you for advice when I'm ready to take it to the next level. You know how much of an inspiration you are to me. Losing 110 pounds is a dream of mine that I'm trying to make come true and you are living breathing proof that it's possible. I hope you will be hanging around our thread more often. I can't believe you are wearing a size 6!!! You must just look lovely! I wish we lived close to each other so I could give you a great big congratulatory hug!!!!! Your example is just awesome! Oh, and I'm sorry you didn't meet any buff lifeguards, maybe next time. ;)

Octoberbride03 - I use BSS1 a lot in addition to the new Super Body work outs I have and cardio sculpt blaster and I think they are all awesome. I'm sure you are in such good shape because of your work outs. Check in with us where you can and I wish you well as you transition in your new job!

sm4987 - we all need rest days. I keep telling myself that. I hate to make myself take one but I know I should once a week. With a rest day then you are ready to go full force the next day. Have a good one and keep up the great work!!!!!

Melanie - I'm so proud of you not giving in to the temptation. You know I consider your example to be a shining sterling one and you just go and prove it again with your ability to work out as intensely as you and your ability to exercise self-control. You go girl!!!!!!

Hey my FIRM friends,

Today was FIRM Strength with Pam Cauthen. Boy there were a few times that my arms were burning from the weights today. Very intense, but boy do I love it. Upper body workouts with weights is my favorite!! I think it's because that's where I see and feel the biggest noticable improvement on my body.

Ok..............please tell me I am not the only one who likes to feel my upper arms. I just love feeling how hard and big my muscles have gotten. It makes me know that all this hard work is paying off. Please Please tell me I am not the only one. I also notice other women's arms alot more now. I try to see if I can tell who works out with weights and who doesn't. Mine have still so far to go to look muscular to the naked eye, but I can see some nice curves popping out! Ok, enough about my new found love for my upper arms!!

Lisa- Resting after Super Body Sculpt is a good thing. You picked a great day to do it. That tape gets me so exhausted, but I love it!! So you think I have self control..........hmm, the 2 days after I reached goal 2 weeks ago I pigged out. I definately had that hot fudge and ice cream then. I paid for it too, the scale shot up so fast!! Luckily it was all water and it came down quickly! I have got to keep trucking and be good so I can get below my goal and be able to fluctuate without worrying about being more than 2 pounds above my goal. I have about 4 weeks left till my 6 week maintenance is over. Keeping my fingers crossed I make it by then. I really want to get to REALLY maintain!! You are doing so fantastic. Keep up the fabulous work!

S&K's mom- You sound like me. Everytime I go to Walmart, there are so many things to get I always forget something!! How did you like your new tape?? You will enjoy your new sneakers. I love getting stuff for my workouts. Its great to feel so excited about something so good for you.

Kimmie- Glad to hear that Emily is whipping you into shape. I almost did CAWT today too, but I ended up doing one of the older ones instead. Let me know what you think of Cathe's bootcamp. It seems like its mostly using the barbell with one minute cardio intensifiers. She says, you can do anything for one minute! I guess the cardio intensifiers are pretty intense!! So glad to see you posting. I miss your daily posts!!

Octoberbride-Glad yournew job is going well. See, and who would have thought hoover squats would pepare you for your new job!! Hang in there, your body will get used to the new job and you will be able to pick up with exercising again without being so worn out and sore!

Sheree- Glad you got to walk yeserday. Hope your workout is great today!!

Melanie - I had to laugh to myself when I read your post. So many of your thoughts mirror my own. I plan to reach my goal and then take it down another 5 pounds or so to give myself some wiggle room. Your comment about your arms is downright scary! I have had identical thoughts lately. I love doing the upper body work outs. When I did Super Body Sculpt yesterday I felt like I was in exercise heaven! I absolutely adore doing all the moves, especially the ones with the heavy weights. The definition in my arms is just great. I even wore a sleeveless shirt to a graduation party on Sunday and got so many comments on how defined my arms look! Yes, I still have fat on top of muscle but the muscle is starting to win out.

I not only pay attention to other women's arms, I notice their tummy's and thighs (if they seem tighter and smaller than mine). I also look at how women walk. I can tell the ones that work out and the ones that look like they need to sit down and take a break on a bench for every few feet they walk (like I used to feel like doing before FIRMing). Thanks for telling me it's okay to take a break after a "super" work out. They are intense but I just love it!!!!! WTG on your own work out today, it sounds like it was a good one!

Melanie & WISH Sis! You are not the only ones who enjoy feeling themselves up!:teeth: OK, if truth be told, I find myself flexing A LOT! I find that if I flex really hard, stand in a certain light, and tilt my head a certain way, I look a little ripped! Ds8 was running his hands over my triceps last week and said, "WOW Mom! What muscles are these? They look so cool!" Ummm, exsqueeze me? I have MUSCLES?:faint:

Seriously, though, I LOVE how my arms look and feel. I have so much definition in my bi's, tri's and shoulders now. I love the "cap" my delts make, and I've added many sleeveless shirts to my wardrobe! Cardio has done great things for my weight maintenance and resting heart rate, but heavy lifting has really changed the shape of my body. What I notice most is how easier it is for me to do everyday tasks (the whole functional fitness thing). Bending down (and getting back up!), carrying the laundry basket up the stairs, running a million errands, etc...All these things have been made so much easier since my fitness level has improved. A healthier body & mind has definitely equaled a greater quality of life!

Melanie (or anyone else), speaking of Functional Fitness...Have you read about the new TLPs (Core Cardio and Core Something Else, filmed on the USS Yorktown) on the Ya Yas or VF? They seem to be really different and difficult and was wondering if you were considering giving them a try? I'm also thinking of Power 90X, which is supposed to be a step or two up from Cathe. I just don't feel like spending $$$ on new equipment which I'd need for both sets. Just wondering your thoughts and opinions...

I'm so sorry to hijack the Firm thread, guys!

Oh I so know what you mean about flexing. Though my tummy needs a lot of work (Irish potato shape you know!) but my arms look fabulous. I love to check out my triceps.

Today was maximum cardio burn with Allie. I'm trying to really work out every day this week as Sat we have two parties!! I know I'll over do it but I never remember that I'll suffer my "food" hangover the next day.

Good morning Firmies!!

I am so glad to know I am not alone! Glad to know I am not a FREAK!

This morning was FIRM Cardio. Why they call it that I don't know. Its a Cardio/Sculpt tape that is a Crosstrainer to FIRM Strength that I did yesterday. They are meant to do back to back.

Tomorrow I will do the treadmill and I will TRY to get up prior to going to NC on Saturday and do Total Sculpt plus Abs.

S&K's mom- Good luck on Saturday, you can do it!! I know its so hard with all that tempting food around. Maybe all the food will suck and it will be everything you hate. That always makes it easier if you don't like anything they are serving!!

Kimmie- TLP's are from Tracy Long Productions, right? I have been reading them, and they interest me because I love Tracy Long in FIRM Hips, buns and thighs. They were taken from the Tortoise and Hare tapes she made. I keep seeing the Power 90X threads but have never read one. What kind of equipments do the TLP's need? I agree with the functional fitness thing. I really notice a difference too in everyday things. Even shopping last night when I lifted a 12 pack of water was so much easier now. I also noticed a difference when I was at Hershey Park on Mother's Day. I bopped around there and never got tired from walking up and down the hills, not even once. It was really nice. I am sure I will notice a difference at WDW this year too.

Lisa- Aren't you so glad we aren't the ones stopping to take a break every few minutes now that we are exercising. It really helps build stamina!! I just hope I can loose those 5lbs below my goal weight soon so I can really start maintaining. I really want to get to that point so I can move on, so to speak!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone!
I just love this thread!:Pinkbounc You gals are the best!!::yes::
I did Total Sculpt + Abs today. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
