Well I finally got to do the whole Emily tape. It was great, wow what an ab section. After having to get into a pair of "fat" shorts this weekend I've realized I've been eating a little to much sugar and pasta, so back to a low carb diet for a few days. Plus I think I've gained some muscle weight. Anyone else have that experience.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi all,

Saturday I did UpperBody Split, but felt cheated because DH scheduled someone to come to the house to give us a quote on some work to the house. Well he did say about a week prior that the guy was coming, but I didn't pay attention to when. So here I am in the living room working and then they sit at the dining room table to discuss. I felt so self conscious and couldn't get fully back into the workout. Luckily it was all upper body so it was easier to stop and start.

Sunday I did Lower Body Split, played a little softball (till poor DS6 got hit twice with the ball), a little volleyball and walked/jogged around the block with DS6. This morning I am very sore in my arms. I think its from the volleyball. My back and knees are a little sore too. The Lowerbody split was 69 minutes, so I know that is where the knees are from and the back is probably from the volleyball.

Today is a REST day, and boy do I need it!

S&K's mom- Yeah to finishing the tape. Definately muscle takes up more space and weight than fat does. But it also burns more calories than fat so keep at it. You are doing fanatastic.

Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon FIRMies!

Saturday I did cardio sculpt with Allie and Sunday it was ab sculpt with Lisa Kay. This morning it was Lisa Kay again with cardio sculpt blaster.

Sunday was weigh in day and I'm down 2 pounds which brings my total to 55 pounds. I've claimed my new clippie. Plus May 1st marked 5 months of working out with the FIRM for me! Woohoo!!! :)

s&k'smom - that Emily tape sounds tough. Good job! I'm sure you are building muscle and you'll be out of that pair of "fat" shorts in no time!

Melanie - Your work outs always impress me! I would have too been so self conscious to have to work out in front of hubby and a contractor. No way! You did great. I'm sure you're in fantastic shape!

Hi to all the other FIRMies!

ZerasPride 55 pounds!!! That's amazing. I'm really proud of you.

OK this am the Susan Miller tape, now I'm having a total brain meltdown. Anyway it's one of the older tapes, and holy mother of God it's a killer. I swear she was a prison guard and made them do aerobics and weight training with her. But boy did they wear a lot of makeup in the older tapes, it's so bright. And there is one guy who obviously had not heard of waxing your legs, really hairy. And what's with the shorts the guys wear, a little too short. OK the tape killed me and I want to make in fun of the people in it!!;)

Hey guys,
I decided to take a second "Recovery/Rest" day. I think my body needed it, but yet this morning I feel guilty and I don't have that same endorphin high that I usually have. We are going out to TGI Friday's for what has become a weekly thing for the kids night there. Maybe afterwards I can do the treadmill tonight.

I lost 5.6 pounds this week. Well, I think most of it was waterweight and I lost the 4.8 I gained when my mom was here plus another .8. I am now only 1.8 away from my WW goal. I dare to dream I can do it this week, but I am not sure since there will be so many eating out events this weekend with Mothers Day.

I told one of my bosses yesterday (who is such a mentor to me) that I was going to do the Disney half Marathon in January and she has asked me to run in the Philadelphia 1/2 Marathon in September. OMG I am scared at the thought. She has run a 1/2 marathon before, and I am scared enough to walk/run it in January. She is talking running the one in Sept. I am thinking about it though. Who knows??

S&K's mom- Volume 1-Body Sculpting basics is so fun to make fun of. The clothes, her voice, how they look. Everything is so FUNNY! It is a tough workout though for sure. I have done it twice already. I do hate all the running for the aerobics. Geez give us something more fun to do. I love the floor work though!

Lisa- I am so proud of you for the 55 pounds. You ROCK girl!! Keep up the fabulous work and keep up the hard work with the exercise. Its so worth it!!

Hey there everyone.

Last night I jogged 2 miles on the TM with a walking 5 min warm-up/5 min cool down. That also caused my bra to rub a raw spot on my lower rib. It was so sore this morning I was afraid to get up and work out with fear that I would cause it to get so bad I wouldn't be able to wear a bra to work. I will try to get a FIRM tape in after work. I really would like to get some weight work in today.

I still can't believe I ran for 2 miles straight!!

This thread is getting so quiet. Hope everyone is well. Keep up the great work.

Good morning, did body sculpt with Jen Carmen this am. With the eight pound weight it's a killer. But when we got to the upper body part I used various weights.

Melanie way to go with the two miles!

Good morning FIRMies!

Melanie, is right, it's awful quite around here!

This morning I did cardio sculpt blaster with Lisa Kay, my favorite work out! I feel so energized.

Melanie - congratulations on your loss! You are so close to your goal! Woohoo!!!! I think it would be awesome for you to do two marathons. You also ran for two miles. Just awesome work! You are my exercise "shero".

s&k'smom - I did body sculpt with Jen yesterday and you are right, using the 8 pound weights is a killer. You did great! Keep up all your hard work.

You know I was thinking it was getting quiet but that's ok we'll keep trucking as they say. I have to be honest everytime I don't want to work out I think about getting into a bathing suit in a little while and it's amazing how you can keep moving!

Lisa & S&K's mom- Just keep trucking with that 8lb weight and I promise it won't be too long that you'll pick that thing up and say "wow its so light". Now that I am using 12lb and 10lb weights as my heavy weights, I pick up the 8lb to put it away (its my medium weight now) and I can't believe how light it is.

Hi FIRMies

Sorry I don't post here more often but lately the time just seems to be flying by! I do usually try to at least read these threads to see how everyone is doing and that helps to keep me motivated, I'll try to post more often. I have only been getting in the FIRM 2-3 times a week because I'm really trying to keep up with my treadmill training for the 1/2 marathon. We'll get to meet at the marathon Melanie!

Today I did Cardio Sculpt Blaster for the first time. Yikes, did I feel uncoordinated ;) Finally I stopped trying to do the arm moves and just tried cocentrating on getting the leg moves down. I'm going to have to really work on getting this one down, but I liked the way she seemed to explain some of the moves. I also did the instructional tape for Winsor Pilates today. I think I'm going to like this too on days when I don't have alot of time. If only there were more hours in the day ;)

Lisa and s&k'smom I agree about the 8 pound weight being a killer. It is amazing how those 3 extra pounds feel more like 20! If I feel like it is too much I go back down to the 5 for some of the moves. Keep working at it, we'll get it :D

Lisa WOW 55 pounds!!!! That is so great! And 5 months of doing the FIRM! Congratulations! Keep up the great work!

Melanie I read about body butter that you can use to help prevent chafing (?spelling?). That seems to be a common problem for distance runners. I hope you are feeling better! You are doing great with your running!!! WOW you ran 2 miles straight already! I am still working on the Couch-to-5K plan and am now running about 2.5 miles a workout but I am still breaking it up with short bits of walking inbetween. I keep plugging along and I am glad I have started training for the 1/2 marathon already. There are still some days when I wonder what I got myself in for though ;) Yesterday I walked for 35 min. at 4 mph (which after running actually seems easy now) and if I would have had the time I could have easily kept going. You are now a FIRM and jogging inspiration! Keep up the great work!!

Cheryl

Good evening FIRMies!
You are all doing such a wonderful job! We had a very hectic weekend at our house and my workouts have not been up to par. I did Body Sculpt (whole video) yesterday and my gluts are sore today! I noticed in BSS2, they don't do a lot of the dreaded hover squats. Since I have been focusing on doing BSS2, I haven't been hover squating. Well in Body Sculpt, you hover squat and I most certainly feel it today!::yes:: I think I am going to start adding BSS1 back into my rotation to wake up my muscles.

Today, I did Cardio Sculpt Blaster without weights. I have a pinched nerve in my neck and thought the weights might aggravate it. Not sure which workout I will do tomorrow. It really depends on how my neck feels.

As of Friday, I will have been exercising for four months! I love the fact that I am getting stronger, but wish I could see some real results now. I know that I am toning and slowly shrinking, but I still look in the mirror and do not like what I see. Unfortunately, it has been quite a battle for me lately. However, I will keep pressing on and see what happens.

Have a great day tomorrow! Keep up the good work!

Tracy:wave2:

So glad to be back in this thread. Our PC went kerplooie last weekend and Dh just spent 4 days fixing it. Ultimately he had a friend come over who knows even more about computers than he does. So its now fixed. And lord knows i hope it stays that way.

Anyhow, I have now celebrated my 5 month anniversary for WISH and I have moved up successfully to 5lb weights in BSS1. I did try to pyramid down like some of you suggested, but i didn't really like how made my arms feel, so I'm just doing BS with whatever weights feel right for the set, either 5lb or 2lb. And I'm pleased to say i used the 5lb weights more often than i thought i would.

So far my week has looked like this:
Sunday: AS with Lisa, tried the side leg lift thing. It didn't work out, i could barley get my lower leg up, so its back to the beginner position and looking/feeling like a beached whale while i do it.
Monday: BS with Jen, the entire tape for once, though i did require 2 breaks during the Lower Body Part. Upper Body went great with using the 5lb dumbbells for the first time, i alternated them with 2lb dumbbells I've been using. Feels pretty good.
Tuesday: AS with Lisa
Weds: As with Lisa again. Dh brought his friend over early afternoon today which meant i couldn't do my CS and UB tapes, cause i look like a train wreck, and prefer to be aloone in the house while i fo them. So I did As to see how it felt 2 days in a row and because i can stand to let Weds. be a rest day. It almost never is, cause i like thursday to be a rest day.

As for the rest of my week, I'm unsure whether I'll take my usual rest-day today or do weight bearing workout. We'll see.

Melanie 12 and 15 pounds. Wow that's amazing. This am was Cardio Sculpt with Nancy Tucker (you know the one I want to feed). I really like this tape as she is encouraging in it. It really is nice to do a tape that is not being led by a teeny bobber who you want to hurt. Have a great day everyone!

Hi all,

I did Total Muscle Shaping today. Whoo hoo got to lift weights today. Its felt like so long! Last night I ran 1 mile straight and walked 1.5.

Tomorrow is a cardio day, not sure if I will get up and run/walk or do a tape. I like the tapes much better but I do need to start thinking about getting training on a more consistant basis. This once or twice a week won't get me fit to do the 1/2 marathon.

S&K's mom- Nope, not 15lbs, just 10 & 12. I think I could use a 15lb for lat row, but I use the 10 & 12 right now for a heavy. I try to do as much as I can with the 12 and then pyramid down to the 10 once I can't continue. You crack me up about wanting to feed Nancy Tucker. She is so skinny isn't she. She has awesome abs and legs. I always say I wish my abs and legs could look like hers.

Octoberbride- Glad your PC is fixed- we missed you. Congrats on your WISH anniversary and moving up to 5lbs. Thats proof that your getting so much stronger. Keep up the great work.

Tracy- I hope your neck gets better soon! Take it one day and one workout at a time. Thats what I have to do if my knees bother me. Congrats on the 4 months of exercising. Please don't get discouraged about results. I am sure you have results there that you are just not noticing. Are you measuring yourself? If not try that. Also, do you notice your upper arms getting stronger and more defined? I noticed there first.

Cheryl- Thanks for the info on Chafing. I hope I get this problem fixed because I won't be able to do 13 miles like this. It will be so fun to get to meet at the marathon. Its going to be such a fun weekend!!

Hi everyone

Well I got out of work at noon today and I was driving home thinking I'd get on the treadmilll and then do Super Body Sculpt upper and abs. I got home and noticed there was a box by our front door. It was stamping order from the Angel Co. Well I go and grab the box and turn to step down the stoop by the door and I twisted my ankle and fell flat on my hands and knees :( I told you guys I was uncoordinated ;) I felt like such a fool, luckily none of the neighbors were around to see. My ankle and wrist are a little sore, not as bad as I originally feared they would be though, but instead of treadmilling and FIRMing I ended up on the couch with my foot elevated and ice on the ankle. It's not feeling too bad now, so I am hoping I willl be able to get back on track tomorrow.

I hope everyone else is having a better day than this!

Cheryl

Hey everyone,

This morning I did Maximum Cardio Burn plus abs. Boy do I love the Ab work in this tape. I die everytime. I haven't worked my abs real well since last week and boy did I feel it today!

Last night I ran 1 mile and walked 1.5 on the TM.

Cheryl- OMG I hope you are feeling better. I know what its like to be excited about a package. Let us know how you are feeling. Pixie dust :wizard: and flowers :flower3: for a speedy :moped: recovery.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheryl I had to laugh because that so sounds like something I would do.

This am I did my Bodies in Motion step tape. I got through it but I realized I definately need a rest day. My arms especially are so tired. So I probably be able to get a walk in tonight with kids and DH and then we'll walk again tomorrow. I'll try to fit some kind of ab workout on Sunday. I have to tell you with working out all five days this week my pants feel better today. But my son has an ice cream social tonight at school so I'm gonna try and be good. See you guys on Monday wait a minute I have my kids meeting on Monday so I'll see you Tuesday.

Hi guys me again, I was just on the firm website and they are having a sale on tapes. 50% off. I just bought two (should'nt have used my credit card butttttttt) and got two brand new tapes for $19.

Hey FIRMies! :wave2:

Took a break from Cathe today and did my beloved CAWT! I know Cathe is supposed to be about as intense as it gets, but that cute little Emily still kicks my butt like you wouldn't believe (Huff, puff, pant, pant...)! Sometimes I forget how much I still enjoy "gettin' down with the Fanny Lifter!"

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and if I don't get back on the boards for a while, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!
