So I've organized this at WDW before where a group went on a Fireworks voyage, and another where we had a dessert reception.

Are there such options at DL? My TA doesn't know a lot about the location...so here I am turning to the Dis!:disrocks:

No big lake like at WDW to go on a voyage.

The only thing we have is preferred seating for Fantasmic. At WDW the show has it's own theatre, but at DL it's just right out there on the Rivers of America. It's $59 per person, you get an actual seat rather than camp out on the ground, and either a dessert buffet on the balcony of the Disney Gallery or a boxed dessert at the riverside seating. (Although every time I've done riverside it's been a buffet too, but people are posting that it's now a box of treats).

One other option is that some of the tours offer preferred seating for fireworks. You do get a great view of the fireworks, but you miss out on some of the show elements that happen at the castle.

no fireworks voyage at DL , what you can do is the fantasmic desert buffet, it is not in a stadium at DL like at DW.

My GF & I's favorite way to watch the fireworks (on a night when CDA is open late) is to ride the Ferris Wheel at Fireworks time. Ride the non sliding cars, the line is always sort.

so you are on your own. we usually do plan meals for groups, and arrange meeting places for doing some things together like the goldenhorse shoe. disney will help with the meals up to a certain # of people. when i had 20+ they gave me the numbers of the restaurants to call invidiually and schedule.

when we do the golden horseshoe billy show some arrive early to hold line places. then there is the scramble to grab enough seats. but it is enjoyable to do a few group things. this also works for parades, a few save places for the group.

another thing we do together is schedule a meeting place/time for a picture. this time we did the visa character meet as our group picture. worked great. had 13 of us and goofy all to ourselves. 5 visa cards in group, so 5 free pictures. also pictures are on photopass. so combined all photopass cards for group and purchased cd.

Is the dessert buffet seating worth the trouble? Is is any better or worse than finding a spot? How do you book things like that?

I myself have no patience to sit for 2 hours holding my spot to see shows or parades, so for us this is probably the only way we will see Fantasmic. I booked ours through vacation planing 1-714-300-7526.

hmm, according to a co-worker, i heard that they no longer serve riverside desert buffet but rather preferred seating and you get a box of goodies... i think he said something about people being really greedy and take a lot...

but someone needs to confirm this, cuz i cant afford to do preferred seating...
