I'm sorry as I'm sure this has been asked 1,000 times! -

DH and I are heading without the kids to DLR next weekend! I really want to get a great view of the fireworks... I assume the best view is near the hub.

If it is, how early do we need to stake out a spot there? I know it will be crowded there, but we won't have the kids.

If we can't make it that early, what is another good spot?

Also, we plan to head to Jungle Cruise/Pirates afterward... can you get there from the hub (I don't know how they control the crowds)?

THANK YOU!!! :)

Kim

If you are heading for JC or POTC, definitely try for the left side of the hub, closest to the direction you are heading. I would say at least 60-90 minutes before the show for good seats, being that you are going on the weekend (you didn't mention what day and the evenings have been packed lately). And keep in mind traffic will be tight!!! When the fireworks are over, you are most likely going to be heading against the crowd.

Have fun!!!

Yep I agree with that last poster above. Stake out a spot a good 60 minutes before the fireworks. Your can swap up saving seats with your family while one goes for drinks and a bathroom break or something. But its totally worth the wait. The hub is the best location.

If you have not seen the show then the hub is definitely where to be. I agree that you will need to get there around 8pm for a curb to sit on. Many of the fireworks appear in the sky to the left of the castle so if you are on the side of the hub closest to Adventureland then you will want to be further back (near the Adventureland entrance) because there is a tree that will block your view if you are too close it.

My favorite spot is just outside the hub. If you are walking down the rightside sidewalk of Mainstreet going toward Tomorrowland they will have ropes up indicating the pathway for walking, where you can't stop to watch fireworks. On the left there is a spot just as you would turn right to enter Tomorrowland. It typically doesn't fill up as quick because it's further back than people think they want to be but really that spot has a great view of the castle and the sky where the fireworks are. Plus, it places the fireworks a little closer to the castle because of the angle.

Two other great spots are from the Rivers of America near the Haunted Mansion and just outside the Space Mountain exit. The latter gives a viewing of the fireworks with the Matterhorn in the foreground which looks cool. Both of these however don't allow a view of the castle so they're only good if you've already seen the show from the hub before.

Jason, this is really good information. Thanks for posting this. :thumbsup2

(a little confused on the highlighted section above. If I've walked up Main St. & am following to the right around the Hub.....Is this spot before or after the Restaurant entrance (where Minnie's breakfast is)? Is it near the Corn Dog truck?)

Thanks again.

If you want to watch the fireworks and then Fantasmic, how is that done?

Here’s a link to a previous thread about seeing the

RDCT fireworks at 9:25pm and then the second Fantasmic at 10:30pm:

See HydroGuy’s post #2 and DangerMouse’s post #3.

HydroGuy’s post #2:
“Yes, I have done it and it is not very hard to see the late F! showing. We saw the RDCT fireworks in the hub from over in front of the Frontierland entrance (on the left side of the hub as you face the castle). After RDCT ends you just head thru Frontierland. One thing of which to be aware is that DL usually sets up a traffic management system in the hub before RDCT starts. This system in my experience directs everyone counter-clockwise around the hub in a one-way traffic lane. After RDCT they try to keep this going for awhile and hence if you are too far away from the Frontierland entrance you might have to go against one-way traffic to get there which might be difficult. My advice is before RDCT starts ask one of the CMs who directs traffic in the hub where you should be in order to make it to Frontierland and F! and go with that.”

DangerMouse’s post #3:
“I use the same strategy as Hydro, however, I prefer to stand closer to the Carnation Gardens entrance and use the Rancho de Zocalo tunnel to get into Frontierland. It puts me at the front of the crowds to get into NoS for the second showing.”

The “ultimate Disneyland entertainment trifecta” is explained in DangerMouse’s post #8.
