Quick question...

I'm heading to Anaheim for a convention in June and was wondering if there are any restaurants or locations (outside the park) where you can view the fireworks popcorn:: (like California Grill at WDW). I won't have any time to be at the parks, but I thought it be nice to get a little Disney in by seeing some fireworks. Are there any locations at one of the Disney hotels or DTD?

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks!

While you can see most of the fireworks from DTD or the esplanade between the parks, it's not the same as being inside DL during the show.

I was thinking more along the lines of a place to have dinner. Are there restaurants at the hotels that look over the parks?

Any suggestions for restaurants at DTD?

I don't think any of the restaurants are high up enough to be able to see them. The buildings in DTD are only 2 stories and the trees would be in the way.

No, none of the restaurants at DTD, even those with outdoor seating offer views of the fireworks. And the hotel restaurants don't either. Your best bet would be to make a reservation at one for about two hours before the show starts, have dinner, then head to the Espanlande area between the parks. On occasion I have seen them there and a couple of times they even piped the music over the loudspeakers which helps. You can also see them from parts of DTD but the music is never piped in there. Good luck!

I forgot to add I really like Naples in DTD, its got a nice outdoor seating area and there is a violinist that frequently plays right outside there and you can hear his lovely music. I am pretty sure however you cannot see the fireworks from that outdoor area. However, its only a 3-5 minute walk to the Espanlande area between the parks. If you want to eat in one of the hotel restaurants, Hook's Pointe in the DLH is very good and that way you could check out the grounds of the DLH. If you want to go all out, you could eat at the Napa Rose in the Grand Californian. You can make priority seatings for any of these at: 714-781-3463 60 days out. If you click on the dining link in brown at the top of this page you can check out the menus for the resort hotel restaurants as well as DTD.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this spot yet, but we just recently stayed at the Paradise Pier Hotel and their rooftop pool area is a great place to watch them from as they pipe in the music. I am not sure if this is something they do nightly as we were there on Friday and Saturday but you do not have to be a hotel guest to access the area. You just take the elevator up to the 3rd level (I think) pool and it is all the way over to the right past the concession stand. There are tables to sit and such. I believe there is a bar that you can order cocktails from somewhere in the hotel as many guests had drinks with them when they were watching the fireworks.

My boyfriend and I are elated we have a place to watch the fireworks from now where you can still hear the music and do not have to deal with the crowds.
