fireworks to Fantasmic

We will be at Disneyland on Saturday. We are planning to watch the 9:30 fireworks in the hub and then head over for the 10:30 Fantasmic show. Are we better to take the path through Adventureland or Frontierland? I used the Frontierland path once, but we were held up there for a while at a rope, before they allowed us to enter the Fantasmic viewing area. Do they do the same thing on the Adventureland path, or is it quicker to go that way?

They don't rope off at Adventureland, but they won't let you stop there, either, since it's the main highway around the juggernaut of Fantasmic seating.

We arrived at the end of the first Fastasmic show, sat down in an open spot near the water, and caught the fireworks at the Fantasmic viewing area. We were that told we had to move back to the ropes when the lights came up so they could sweep the area, and then allowed to sit back down a couple of minutes later near the rail for the 10:30 show this past Sunday. I'd guess the sit down section in the center where we were was filled within 10 minutes of the end of the fireworks. I don't see how anyone at the hub made it there by then, unless they had one of their party already at the water to hold their spots.
