Hi! Long time lurker, first time poster. :flower3:

I am planning a last minute trip for my family to Disneyland. I am a WDW vet, but have never been to Anaheim!

Here is my problem: I was browsing through parade and show times and noticed that the Disneyland site does not list a time for Magical.

Does the fireworks show run nightly? Do they not show Magical during the slower seasons? We are looking at Oct. 6th or 7th as our Disneyland day, neither of which are party nights. Are there special Halloween fireworks on non-party nights? I just can't figure it out!

One other question: WoC fast passes. Where in DCA are the machines located?

Thanks for any help you could provide to this Disneyland newbie!

Unfortunately the Fireworks are only Friday- Sunday and party nights.

They are with the Grizzly River Rapids FP distribution, enter DCA and stay right. There are lots of signs to help you.

Thanks for any help you could provide to this Disneyland newbie!

You can also get WoC FPs with meals similar to the Fantasmic dinner at DHS.

Hi!

Welcome to the DISBoards (or out of lurking mode :goodvibes)!

There are no fireworks on 10/6 or 10/7/2010. "Remember Dreams Come True," arguably Disneyland's best fireworks show, is showing on Saturday and Sunday evenings right now. "Halloween Screams!" the Halloween-themed fireworks show, also amazing, is showing only during the Mickey's Halloween Party. A separate ticket is required to attend the party (and therefore enjoy the fireworks). "Magical" is not being shown during this time of year.

WoC FastPasses are given out from the Grizzly River Rapid FP machines.

HTH,
Dreams

During off season I think the fireworks are only on the weekend. That's how it was in May. The fireworks generally goes off at 9:30 I'm pretty sure. but it might be earlier in October. If you are still in the area and the fireworks are not on your DLR day you can sit in the concourse in between DL and DCA. Its free and they pipe the music out there. You just have to get your bags checked and park at the downtown disney parking.

WOC fastpasses are distributed at the rapid ride's fatspass distribution area next to California Grand. If your are there when the park opens they usually have a CM directing you where to go.

Thanks everyone for the quick replies! We do have tickets for the party tomorrow night, so at least we will be able to see the Halloween Screams fireworks show!

About Woc: I noticed that besides the dinner packages they are offering a pre-packaged picnic lunch for WoC. They are not available for our dates, but I was curious what others thought about this option (for future reference!)

I did this, I'm not sure why they aren't available. They do need to be ordered online before the day of show, or in person the day of the show, which I believe they are then determined to be available on the actual day of the show.

I found picnics to be a very flexible way to see the show. Tasty too.

The food options for the lunch sound great. Where in the park would we go to order the picnic, or at least check on the availability? What kind of passes for WoC come with the lunch? I see there are blue, red and yellow available in the fast pass machines, and I have looked a viewing map showing the locations of each color. Does this lunch option put you in a reserved section or are you placed in one of the colored sections?

Sorry for all the questions, I really appreciate the help!! :thumbsup2

I just though of something, sorry for this, the same day purchase of meals is always for tickets to the second show, since it's a weekday you can't do this because there is only one show.

If you can get online and order for the next day or later day....

You pick up the picnic at next to Wine Country trattoria. It's really easy to find if you follow the signs. It in a enclosed area on the west end of the building with a short wall and trees around it. But just look for the signs for WoC Picnics they are set up no matter which side you come from as you go around GRR.

With the picnic you get either a blue or yellow tickets. You can pick them up between 11:30 and an hour before the show.

Good to know! Makes sense now as to why the picnic was not available online for our dates.

One last question! What is your experience with WoC fast passes on a weekday this time of year? We've settled on DCA for the 6th, are we going to have to run to the machines at opening?

It's a bit hard to say since there isn't as much data coming in as there was over the summer.

Also in the summer they had 3 shows to accomodate the larger crowds. So since it is prportional now the FPs are running out sooner or later for the most part.

If you go to get FPs in the morning they are distributed Blue, Yellow then Red. Viewing is better from Blue, worst from Red. So you still want to get them first thing. But in each color there are good and bad places to watch from so you still need to use strategy during the evening when you go to Paradise Park.

FYI: this comes up every other day, each ticket in your group needs to be used to enter a park that day to activate it, DCA or DL, before you can get a WoC FP. One person can take all the tickets to get the FPs after that.
