A friend of mine is going to Disneyland the first week of October and was wondering if there is a way to get reserved seating for fireworks. Last year they got some pixie dust and a CM let her and her daughter sit in the roped off section on the benches. She was hoping to book reserved seating for it but I told her I've never heard of a way to do that.
Any ideas? Or anyone know who the reserved seating is for?

Maybe she can do that dessert party with the characters. I think you just watch from above, depending if the fireworks actually show and no refunds.

Only way to get into the reserved seating for fireworks currently is to book a VIP tour ($400-$550/hr with 6 hour min), know someone inside TDA with the hookup or BE a VIP. There was a guided tour quite a while ago that had fireworks reserved seating but that is long gone.

There is no premium option like WOC or even a dining package that gets you a better section. Short of the Tomorrowland Terrace (is that still a thing?) it is every guest for themselves for fireworks.

I've always thought that Disneyland has resisted offering a paid viewing experience for fireworks because they have to cancel fireworks fairly frequently. The other shows seem a little less weather-sensitive. I'd love if there was some kind of fireworks dessert party, but I'm not surprised that there isn't anything offered on a regular basis anymore. Even the Skyline Lounge only mentioned fireworks in passing; it didn't seem like it was a major selling point.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I thought.

Yeah that's very true! I'd hate to shell out money for something that would get cancelled on a windy evening.
