I finally beat 260k tonight, scored 267,396. Before tonight the best I've done was around 258k. Gives me hope that I might be able to beat 270k one of these days.

I would like to thank Lauralee for helping me get this score. We were in the same 3 games before this one and I was always a thousand or 2 behind her every round. Inspired me to try harder. Managed to get 5 GOOD rounds and instead of stopping at 240K decided to go for it. Actually had 241K before the last round.

Guess a little competition between DIS members is a good thing.

If I could do it, so can you! I've only managed it once (and have the screen shot somewhere to prove it. LOL). I'm lucky to break 260k most times now.

At least it's a far cry from months ago, when I thought I'd NEVER make it to
240k!

I was talking to NaviMap on a VMK tour last fall, and he said a lot of it was the computer. At the time I was scoring about 220. But, since then I have managed to break 240, so there is still room for improvement for me. To hit your lofty heights, I may need a computer with a faster processor (just like the golfer who thinks that a new set of clubs will improve his game!)

Your computer can make a big difference. I could barely beat 220 with my old system. 240 is not a problem with my new system. Another thing that does make a difference is your mouse. I changed my wireless mouse with a wired one and my scores improved about 5,000. Puckstopper55 mentioned that in another thread. Thinking about buying a high res gaming mouse to see if that can squeeze out a few more points.

Not only your computer but internet connection has a lot to do. I normally score between 260,000-270,000. Just recenlty I visited my mom's houseand my little brother has dial up and I could barely reach 240,000 on that computer. So a lot of us do have an advantage for having a faster computer and better internet connection.

I finally managed to hit 269, 000 ~ just shy of 270,000 which is my next goal. I just can't seem to keep up in the final rounds but I keep trying.

Wow! What a score! My personal best was just over 264k, and I was shocked I had even gotten that. My consistent range is 249 to 253k. Hoping that one day I can dance with the big boys and girls! So I must keep practicing. Hope to catch you in the game sometime.

I just got my fireworks magic pin (for those who didnt see my thread on it) and I will admit, I went out and bought a 'wired' mouse and mouse pad. I think it helped.

I will never strive for 260,000 and would be happy just to break the 240 mark consistantly. lol
