We'll be staying at Poly and don't plan on going to MNSSHP, but I'd love to see the fireworks. I know you can "see" the fireworks from there, but is there anywhere you can "hear" the music?

Ohana's, the restaurant at Poly, always has the nightly Wishes music piped in. Although, I don't know if they also pipe in the "special" fireworks music from the MNSSHP or MVMCP. Good luck - that would be fun to see!

I was also told that they pipe it in so you can hear it on the beach. I hope that is right.

There are some small not-exactly-Bose speakers at the edge of the sidewalk next to the beach. You can hear it, and you can tell it's music, etc., but the sound-quality is nothing like being in MK. It's still nice, though, to be able to watch them from the beach while kids swim in the pool behind you.

I can't remember if it still works or not, but they actually used to play the music underwater in the pool.

The sound quality is better in 'Ohana.

When we were at the Poly in October 2005, I wouldn't say there were no crowds watching Wishes from there. It was quite crowded along the beach; so much so that there were usually no chairs available, and you had to either stand closer to the lake, or go back closer to the pool. Most of the people watching were not Poly guests, but people who had walked over from the TTC. When the fireworks were over, you could see a stream of people heading back to the TTC along the path from the Poly to the TTC. True, it wasn't as crowded as inside MK, but it was still pretty much standing room only at the beach.

Wow, that's crazy!

But it wasn't bad. It's not as though we couldn't still see them if we just went to the beach itself, and those people were generally good about leaving as soon as the fireworks ended. If anything, I think they were smart. Doing this got them on the right side of the TTC at park closing, yet still allowed them to see the fireworks.

I don't know for sure, but I'm fairly certain people were also hopping on the resort monorail at TTC and riding over to the GF to view Wishes from that beach. That's also beautiful, I'm sure, and it surely lessened the crowds at the Poly beach, but it's much more difficult to get back to the TTC at the end of the show from GF, unless you're willing to walk a pretty good distance along the beach, or ride the monorail, which crawls at park closing time, back around to the TTC.

Aloha Nanu57v,
Although I have not yet heard them first hand, I understand the Polynesian has a new speaker/sound system. Some of the Poly fans from ******** were talking about them (I believe SeaSpray even took a picture of one). :boat:
