Fireworks in September?

Hmmm, I've been watching the calendar like a hawk, waiting for the September hours and entertainment schedule to show up. The first couple of weeks finally dropped (our trip is the 11th-15th).

I was able to book a WOC dessert party package for the 13th. The calendar is now showing F! for that week on Friday and Saturday, but the dining packages have not yet opened up. Somebody posted on the September thread that they called and were assured that, since F! is now on the calendar, the dining packages will soon open up.

BUT.... they are not showing any fireworks at all in September yet. Saturday, August 31st, it's Disneyland Forever, but Sunday, Sept 1st, nothing. On Labor Day weekend???

I'm really hoping they show up soon, and it's not just down because of the OBB Halloween parties over in DCA later in the month. I'm wondering if they don't want to have fireworks in DL because it would draw people away from the OBB or something.

They've announced that they'll be presenting Halloween Screams on "select nights" during HalloweenTime (starting September 6th). My guess is that there will be fireworks on Sun (9/1) and Monday (9/2) (probably Disneyland Forever). After that, they might only present fireworks on weekends (Fri, Sat, Sun), which would be consistent with previous years. Given that that info stops at the start of a new month, they're probably still working on the entertainment calendar and the final decision has not yet been made.

Is Halloween Screams something that I can stay put and watch after Fantasmic? Or would it be significantly better if I watch from Main Street?

Personally, I think it will be better from Main Street -- specifically, anywhere on Main Street where you will have a clear view of the castle, the left upper side of the castle (where the Jack orb rises), and the area above the castle (where Zero flies). The show won't be terrible from the ROA, but it will be better from Main Street/the Hub area, and superb from right in front of the castle.

I agree with theluckyrabbit. I think you can watch it from the RoA, but the view from Main Street is going to be a lot better. In general, I think the RoA is one of my least favorite of the viewing areas (Main Street is my first choice, followed by IaSW Mall, followed by RoA, followed by Batuu). You'll see the projections on the mist screens, but the angles are all different and depending on where you're viewing from, the mist screen might be in one direction and the fireworks in another.

This is going to be a tough choice! We will be in the parks Monday 9/9-Friday 9/13 which means fireworks and Fantasmic on the same day. We were going to use Sunday 9/8 as our "calm down from life and gear up for parks" day. I'm wondering if we need to swap that out so we can do fireworks one night and Fantasmic another. Though we have reservations and suck that would need to be changed. Crumbcake!

Fireworks get cancelled so often I wouldn’t change my plans to see something that could be cancelled. Unless you want to add a day.

We are there the same days.

But that is one reason why I would lean toward trying for fireworks on the first night, 9/8. If the show goes on, great! Then the last night can be saved for F! (and, maybe, fireworks again from the ROA). But if fireworks get cancelled that first night (and switched to MMM), then there is a second chance on the Friday. Otherwise, it is a bit risky to bet everything on one night at the end of the trip.

Like theluckyrabbit said, I also would not wait until the last night to try and see fireworks. Especially because they're supposed to be Halloween Screams, which has normally been a Mickey's Halloween Party Exclusive. It's a really good show (especially if you like Nightmare Before Christmas, Villains and/or Halloween).
