Where are they relative to Disney's location? Is the traffic bad? Any comments on the quality? We're considering a 4th of July 2012 trip to HHI.

Thanks,
Bobbi:goodvibes

The fireworks you see from the resort are provided by someone other than Disney-I think it's the merchants in Shelter Cove? The viewing just happens to be perfect from the marsh by the resort. I'm not sure about fireworks going off somewhere else for the holiday, but I think getting to them would be a nightmare trafficwise!

There are also fireworks at Harbour Town in Sea Pines, and, yes, traffic there is a nightmare. Parking is restricted, and they make use of a trolley to the viewing area. I believe there are also fireworks on Skull Creek near where Hudson's restaurant is located.

OK...just so there are fireworks that you can see from the resort without dealing with the traffic. Thank you.:thumbsup2

The fireworks are launched from a barge anchored in the marsh directly behind the DVC resort. They are sponsored by the Shelter Cove merchants (Disney is a contributing member). They are offered every Tuesday thru mid August as well as July 4th. Next week there will be fireworks both Monday and Tuesday!

There are other displays on the 4th that can be viewed from the resort, but they are typically pretty distant.

Enjoy! :)

The HHI website said that the shelter cove fireworks on Monday 7/4 will be replacing the ones on Tuesday..not in addition to those..just FYI.

We are checking in on sunday 7/3 (four nights in 2bdroom)and plan to not go out to dinner on the 4th( cook that night) to avoid any craziness with getting back to resort...the driving/parking at shelter cove is crazy on firework nights!!! We have had great views from our villa in building 29 and even from ours in main lodge ..if not, there are plenty of places to walk to and get better view on the resort and at shelter cove if you want...
Count down for us has begun..even started packing!!!

Thanks. We've been here on the 4th many times and they have still had the Tuesday fireworks in addition. Sounds like an economic decision made by Shelter Cove.

There is rain threatening tonite so hopefully it will hold off until after the fireworks. We still have another 17 days here in paradise! :)

Wow 17 more days at HHI...I so envy you! I usually go in early June, so I am ready for the humidity and pm thunder showers...... but just ready to relax anyway.

Looks like the rain will not affect the fireworks tonite. Lets hope next Monday is the same! :)
