I am thinking about going to San Diego for the 4th of July and am planning on staying downtown for one night before heading north to Carlsbad. Typically, are there fireworks downtown in the Harbor Island area?

Thanks

There are usually several fireworks displays along the coast. You'd be able to see Sea World's for sure. Plus Coronado has some, Mission Bay, you might even be able to see La Jolla's.

There's a big fireworks display on the bay - they shoot them off from three (or four?) different spots, so you should have a view from Harbor Island - in fact from there you'll be able to see at least two additional fireworks displays, and maybe three, if you can see the ones from Coronado, too. We usually went to Shelter Island to see fireworks. The worst part is parking, and then traffic getting out, but if you're staying on Harbor Island that makes it a lot easier.
