You can see Wishes from the beach, however some of the lower fireworks are blocked by trees. Doesn't match watching them in the park, but it's fun if you happen to be staying at WL.
If you book a woods view room and request North Wing, 5th or 6th floor, you have a pretty good view of the Fireworks ( the view from the 7th floor Club Level is quite nice, if Club level fits in your budget )
You can also see quite a bit if out on the Boat Dock

We had an either 4th or 5th floor woods view room overlooking the otter pond and could see the fireworks from the bed. We could see them through a gap in the trees and over the trees, but the trees did block part of the view.
And on the two nights that for some reason they were doing fireworks at 3 am (!!!!! the latest MK closed while we were there was midnight, so I have no idea why they were doing them at that hour) we also got to see those from the bed, after being woken up by the noise...

Very interesting! I had requested 5th or 6th floor Woods view North Wing when. I made my reservation as well as during online check-in. We received a room in the south wing facing the Villas and walkway to buses. When I asked for the North Wing room again at check in I was told it was not available. The CM at checkin also told me we would not have been able to see any fireworks as they would be blocked by the trees! So apparently this is not true!
We were staying an elevator ride directly up from roaring forks (whatever section that is) and we could see fireworks. While cool, my DS's who were 1 and 4 at the time could not sleep through them. No early nights for us on that trip!

There are a lot of trees between the rooms and the water, so one room could have a good view and the room next door could have it totally blocked. The CM's probably find it safer to just tell everyone that the trees block the view. But we saw the fireworks from our 6th floor room.
One of my favorite things to do at Disney World is watch the movie on the beach at Wilderness Lodge with some ice cream and watch the fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant when it comes by! It's nice watching from your room (we did it at the Poly), but I really like having the music pumped in and watching it with a small crowd. It's kinda far and as mentioned, you lose some of the lower fireworks, but if paired with the movie and pageant and ice cream (or adult beverage!), it's a really lovely night.
