Fireworks from which Poly beach?

Two years on a mother-daughter only trip,my dd and I watched the MK fireworks from the beach at the Poly and it was one of the most magical moments of our trip! I want to bring my husband and older dd to do the same when we return in August.

My question is: which beach has the best view of the castle? Last time, we found the beach by following the signs, but I am not sure which beach we ended up on. When I look at a map of the property, there are three separate beaches. Does the middle beach (closest to the Hawaii building) have the best view?

I'd be interested to know which beach does too. We usually always just watch from the beach in front of the Poly pool. We like to be close to Captain Cook's so we can grab snacks and close to the pool bar :cool1:

All views from the beaches are terrible, you'll hate them all. Try the 4th floor deck at the Contemporary instead. ;)

In my opinion, yes the main beach in front of the Hawaii longhouse has the best view. The castle is directly in front of you! We always watch the fireworks from there and have a great view.

I understand you are joking that the beach is bad, but is the contemporary bad or part of the joke?
We plan on watching from there on arrival day but if it's not worth it I'll hit dtd or something instead

Without hesitation go to the main beach in front of Hawaii. Best view for sure but more importantly only beach that has the music piped in. And in front of Hawaii has the best sound. They put in new pot speakers in 2010 and the sound is good. Stay near the sidewalk, people make the mistake of getting closer to the lagoon. That doesn't improve the view but sure hurts the sound quality.

great info - thanks!

We do plan on seeing them from the CR also because we will be staying there,(our first time!) but I really love sitting on the lounge chair on the beach too!!:cloud9:

The Beach at the Polynesian Resort offers a great view
of Wishes and other MK Fireworks shows.
They do "pipe in" the audio of the shows.
There are several ground-level speakers along the
sidewalk.

They also pipe the audio to the speakers at the Poly pool.
The audio level if better in some places (closer to the sidewalk, for instance) than others (far out on the beach, for instance.)

To find the "sweet spot" for viewing, stroll along the sidewalk until the Cinderella Castle comes into full view.

More Viewing Spots-

You can see them from TTC (they pipe-in the audio from
the show) but you are not allowed to stand in the
Ferry loading area.

You can see them from the boat-dock and an outside
observation deck near Narcoossee's restaurant at the
Grand Floridian. Anyone can stand on Narcoossee's Deck.
The outside deck is not a part of the actual restaurant. (All serving is done inside.)
The deck is accessed from the sidewalk outside the restaurant.
Also, good viewing from the Patio overlooking the Marina.
The sound of the show is piped into these areas too.

At the Contemporary, there is viewing on an outdoor
observation area on the 4th floor.
The California Grill observation areas are reserved for patrons that day of the Grill or Bar.

(Fireworks shown above are simulated.)

At Wilderness Lodge, the "secret place" to watch the MK fireworks is from the northern area of the Cast Member (CM) Parking Lot.

At the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds Marina (angle shown on the map below,) some of the view (especially of the "Fantasyland" pyro) is blocked by the now unused Discovery Island in Bay Lake and by the high-rise buildings of the Contemporary Resort.
But, the view from the Ft. Wilderness' sand beach (farther north) is more open.
Still the tree-level can block the views of the lower-firing pyro.

Here are the angles of the views in the Bay Lake area.

As for viewing from INSIDE the dining area of restaurants
(you usually need ADRs for most, and they are usually busy during the shows)...
you can see (and hear) them at California Grill at Contemporary,
'Ohana at Poly, Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian,
and (if you have access there) the Top of the World at Bay Lake Tower.

I agree on the beach in front of the Hawaii building !!!pixiedust:

We pull up a few lounge chairs and watch....I remember sitting there feeding my now 8 year old a bottle while we watched with the other 2 kiddies in the PJ's !!

PERFECT VIEW !!! :wave2:
