Which fireworks would we be able to watch from the balcony at the Contemporary? Is it Wishes or Spectromagic?

We are planning on making ADR's for Chef Mickey's then watching the fireworks afterwards from the Contemporary.

So I assume it would be whichever show shoots fireworks over the castle? :confused3

You can see wishes from all the hotels on the monorail ring, and IMO the Contemporary has the best view for fireworks.

Spectromagic is the name of the electrical light parade that runs through the Magic Kingdom in the evenings.

Where from the Contemporary were you planning on watching? I am not sure the current policy about the observation deck....anyone know? We'll be there on the 8th...of course there is no Wishes that night!!

We were planning on watching from the observation deck. I have heard from others who haved planned their ADR's at Chef Mickey's an hour or so before Wishes. Then after dinner watched the fireworks. Regarding an observation deck "policy", no one has ever mentioned any problems with this strategy.

Sorry - I've only gone to the observation deck when dining at CG..so I didn't know everyone can go up there during the fireworks.I just called and there are fireworks at 9:15 on the 8th from the party so we will get to see them during dinner!

The observation deck that anyone can watch Wishes from is on the same floor as Chef Mickey (on the opposite side of the building). The only people allowed on the observation deck on the top floor are the people that are eating at California Grill. The view from the same floor as Chef Mickey is very good and very close. We were there last November and the problem I had with it is they do pipe the music in but the night we were there it was very low and everyone on the deck was talking so you really could not hear it very well. The other problem is you are viewing Wishes from the side (not straight on like you were on Main Street) so the fireworks do not look like they are happening right behind the castle.

We love the view of Wishes from the beach on the Poly or from 'Ohana. You are further away but the fireworks look like they are right behind the castle.

The other problem I find with the Contemporary is there is a parking lot between you and the park and I feel you lose some of the magic looking out over a parking lot - at least from the 4th floor - maybe not up by California Grill as you are higher up and do not really realize the parking lot is there.

I learn something new! I never knew there was a deck on the same floor as CM!! I assumed the OP was going to the CG observation deck, which I thought was for CG only! :)

Yep, they have a small area with some bleachers, it's at the exact opposite end of the floor from CM.
