When we've gone in the winter... when the hours are shorter they just move the fireworks earlier.. and at MK just do one parade. I dont' remember them ever being cancelled... except for weather.
Someone even said they read somewhere that this year they will do fireworks before the early close of MK for MVMCP... They didn't do that last year but apparently they are trying something new.
Ohhhhh my!! You are in for a treat! They are all spectacular! We always try to see Wishes and Illuminations at least twice on every trip!!! We enjoy Fantasmic too... but usually just see it once.
Early December is a great time to go... you just have to be prepared for anything weather wise. Generally the weather is really nice... but you gotta be ready for those odd days when it gets cold.

Pop Warner is usually the first week and then it's calm until right before Christmas.
If you haven't gone in the winter before you'll like that too...
The only thing worse than WDW crowded is WDW HOT and crowded!
Are you planning a night at MVMCP??
Not sure. After having done MNSSHP, which was like being packed in a suitcase, I''m not sure we want to try that again. My wife and I were actually disgusted with how jammed the place was. Crossing a street took five minutes. They say it is "limited"... which I gather means "limited to the legal amount, set by law".
I do think this will be a great trip, though, as long as the weather is nice!
