Fireworks dessert party with plaza viewing

just booked for September. It will be me, dh dd4 and dd2. Fireworks are at 9pm and party starts at 745pm. We have dinner at 1900 Park fare that night at 5:25pm. Is that enough time in between? Should I try for an earlier dinner?

Do we have to get to the party right at 745pm? Could we be a few minutes late?

How is this party? Never done it. It will be for happily ever after so I know nobody has personal experience with these fireworks but just in general.

Any info, advice. Opinions welcomed.

I always figure an hour and half for dinner. It shouldn't take that long but it always helps to figure that long in case. I think you should be able to make it. I have not done the garden view party yet but have a reservation and have been reading posts about it. From what I have read you can be later then 7:45 and they do not start taking people to the viewing area until 15 minutes before the fireworks start.

I think what you have is good timing if you want both. I generally do not plan on dessert party on the same day I have full meal.

I think you could make it, but I don't know if I would. I've never done a dessert party but I wouldn't book one all you can eat event after another (dinner).

I would say definitely not.

We did a BoG dinner at 5:15 with the dessert party at 7:45. We had enough time to ride Buzz Light-year before the party. Although BoG isn't a buffet, but you should have enough time. You can also show up late to the dessert party.

I don't think there is any possible way you can get your money's worth at a dessert party, and you'll feel pretty gross after it's done, but it might be worth it to get a prime viewing spot for the fireworks without having to camp out an hour before it starts.

Take it from 2 Pooh sized women - you will not get the enjoyment out of the dessert party if you eat at 1900 Park Fare first - that alone can be too much food because no matter how small of an amount we take from the buffet it seems to overflow the plate. Then to add desserts to it a few hours later..........you would be in agony, there are too many cute and delicious desserts to chose from and even sharing it would be hard to enjoy the desserts.

Thanks all. I'd have to change some things around. I also have a res for dinner at 1900 Park fare the same night I have a rol dining package breakfast at tusker house. If I did dinner that night I'd cancel the dinner the night of the fireworks party. I'm also not really looking to get my money's worth. It's for some desserts And for a good viewing spot with a 2 and 4 year old.

So maybe we should skip rol? Not sure how much my 2 and 4 year old would like it? And would be a late night coming back from animal kingdom. We're staying at contemporary so we can stroll (literally have them in the stroller) back from MK late at night.

You'll be fine with the timing. We did the party back in December and actually had a Cali Grille reservation at 5:50 pm. My intention was to NOT get to the dessert party at 7:45 pm, LOL! I couldn't imagine us eating dessert for an hour, so we ate at Cali Grille, walked to MK and even had time to attempt to ride BTMRR (though a torrential downpour started and we never rode). We got to the dessert party around 8:30 pm, nibbled on some desserts and, about 15 minutes before the fireworks, they escorted us to the garden where we had a fantastic view. I didn't care about the desserts. The point for us was to get a great view in an area that wasn't crowded and where we wouldn't have to wait like sardines. With that goal in mind, we definitely got what we paid for! We are doing it again in August to see Happily Ever After. I wouldn't stay for the fireworks unless we had the party booked.

Having the great view without fighting for a place to stand is my main reason for booking the dessert party. The last time we tried to get a spot for the fireworks some man was so rude to us, he told us to get out of the way and several other rude things.

This is as well. In fact, I purposely book BOG dinners on the nights we attend the dessert party because we don't care for the dessert choices at BOG and we really can't eat more than a few bites of sweets anyway. So after a nice meal we can relax at the party with some coffee and a mini dessert or two and know we have a great view of the fireworks waiting for us rather than the other way around.

We did the fireworks party and plaza viewing last month and liked it. I recommend an early dinner, just to allow you to make room for the all you can eat desserts at the party. But if you're happy with the reservation you've got now, you'll be fine. You can show up any time after the party starts- it's very casual. We were a bit late and there was no issue at all. They'll check you in and lead you to a table, then you can begin serving yourself dessert. When the fireworks time draws near, the CMs at the party will begin escorting the plaza viewing guests to the spacious plaza viewing area.

We just did the dessert party tonight. I wish we had gotten there closer to 8:15 instead of 7:40. There were plenty of desserts left (all selections were topped off as they became consumed) and we didn't head over to the viewing area until 8:40. Next time I would either plan to have lunch around 2:30 or have a very healthy snack later in the day.

We loved it. My daughter said it was her favorite thing so far. They had an ice cream sundae bar, decorating cookies, fruit & cheese, chocolate covered rice krispy treats, dark chocolate dipped jumbo strawberries, canollies, tiramisu, strawberry short cake, chocolate cupcake, vanilla cupcake, chocolate almond cake, peanut butter tart, cheesecake brownie bites, and Oreo mousse on top of an Oreo cookie with mickie ears...

You can bring it into the garden area. When you enter, you may want to consider heading to the back railing area. That's where we went and no one stood in front of us. Lots of room and great view
