Fireworks Dessert Party - Plaza Garden view

Thanks so much Nathan.tan. That's exactly what I was hoping for. Great tip about checking in early. Just go to Tomorrowland Terrace to do that? I'm not very familiar with that restaurant.

Yes. Go to the restaurant. There will be a stand with someone with a list of names. Just give them your name and they will check you off and give you bands.

We just did this on Wednesday. We were not impressed with the actual dessert party part of it. The tables on the upper level are packed in. It felt like an overally crowded cafeteria, complete with bad lighting. A CM finds a table for you, thank goodness, because you have to squeeze between tables. The deserts were decent, but hard to enjoy in the atmosphere. By the time we got there the crackers were gone as well as most of the cheese.

That being said, the actual wishes portion was fantastic. The area isn't crowded at all. everyone rushed to the rail, but we headed to the back rail so we could lean. The people that headed for the front rail had non-party people right in front of them on the other side of the rail. We were completely unobstructed because there wasn't anyone in between us and the people all the way up at the front rail.

You can stay and watch the castle show, and we did. At that point it is no longer roped off, but very few people came in.

Honestly, on a really busy day like we had, I would consider doing it again just for the space, but I truly think I would skip the dessert portion and consider just getting my wristband and going in to the viewing area when it was time. We found the dessert portion that miserable. We've done the Star Wars party and loved that, this is nothing like that.

Did you notice is the tables on the lower terrance viewing area were as crowded together?

They originally tried to seat us on the lower terrace, but there were no tables for 5, it was just as packed, but at least the lights were dimmer there and not bright fluorescent like the very top level. I believe both of these levels were for the garden viewing, and I think there was the third even lower level for the terrace viewing. I didn't get a good look at that level.

Just back and I did the plaza garden viewing for regular wishes on 12/5 and the terrace viewing for holiday wishes on 12/6. I have always been a fan of the dessert parties but I did not enjoy either of these. On the night of our plaza garden party I noticed that the area seemed to be in use before our party even started. Once we were escorted over it was pretty crowded and most prime spaces were gone. Turns out there is a Pandora promotion giving them access to the same area and they were there way before us to claim their spots while we stood waiting to be escorted to a full area. I had never heard of this and I have no idea if this is going to continue into the future.

Now for the terrace viewing yes many of the tables are pushed up against the rail and it is advertised as first come first choice seating however when we got back to the area to choose a table we were told the front tables are for groups of 2 only and tried to give us a farther back table because we were a party of three.

Please feel free to ask me any questions about these parties....

We are doing the garden viewing part in January. Wishes, I believe, is at 8pm. So the party starts at 6:45pm. Can you check in early and get your band? How was it being escorted to the gardens and how was the view and space there? What kind of desserts are we talking about?

I'm not sure if you can check in early...wristbands are picked up at the terrace so if you see someone there early you might be able to. There is no advantage to getting it early as you aren't watching wishes from there. The escort there was very efficient and there were a few castmembers guiding our group through the crowd. Desserts were ok...ice cream, mini tarts and cupcakes. Also cheese and fruit. As to the space I was very disappointed because it was being shared with another group who had access to it earlier.

Has anyone been to the Garden Plaza Dessert Party lately? We just booked this for March because we would like a good view of Wishes since it's ending soon. We did the Terrace party about 3-4 years ago and thought it was nice, but haven't rushed back. Really just wonder if this is worth it for four of us to have a great, non-crowded view of Wishes for the last time. Thanks!

We have a reservation for the Plaza Garden dessert party for August. I have a question about our reservation time.
The only time they had to choose from was 7:45 pm. I know that is not when we have to arrive for the party but to just check in .Do we have to wait until 7:45 to check in or can we go before or after that time?
MK closes at 9:00 on the Disney calendar but know that will probably be extended to at least 10:00 or 11:00.
Will they change our reservation time of 7:45 to later if the hours are extended ?

I'm assuming Wishes is at 9 PM, and, if so, 7:45 is the check in time. I'm not sure how much before that you can go in, but you can definitely go in after. It's just a matter of how much time you want for the desserts. Even if MK hours are extended, Wishes will probably stay at 9 PM, so your check time will also stay the same.

I know the plaza garden version of the dessert party had walk up reservations available when they first added it. Does anyone have any recent experience with getting a walk up spot? Do they hold some back? We just decided we'd like to do this for our October trip, and of course ADRs are all full.

ADRs are not full for October. They haven't opened yet. :)

We have seen several open for August. When I click to show all Magic Kingdom available restaurants and times it does not show up as available. But click the individual link for the Plaza Garden dessert party and there are some available. So try clicking on the individual dessert party link and then search for a reservation. I dont know why it doesnt show up when you search for all the restaurants at once but it doesnt when I try.
