Has anyone on here done a wishes or illuminations speciality cruise? I've always wanted to do one but the steep price always stopped me. Is it worth it? And can you arrange to have other snacks on board (champagne, dessert, etc)?

Nice, but pricey.

Snacks and champagne, very pricey.

Welcome to the dis, 37.

We've taken several of the Illumination cruises over the years as well as a number of Wishes cruises at the Magic Kingdom. They are costly, for sure, but a nice cap on the evening if you can get by the cost. Our first was $85 back in 1999. Now something over $300. We did order a celebration cake, back then, maybe $20. Extras are a lot more today for sure.

If you plan on going, make sure to try and book at your 180 day point. The available boats sell out quickly, though not as quickly as in the past due to the high cost.

You can also work on sharing a cruise, and its cost. See this thread here.

Keep in mind that that thread is 10 years old. Still active, but certainly dated posts early on.

In any case, enjoy.
