fireworks cruise or party?

I'm assuming you are asking about HEA fireworks cruise vs HEA fireworks party. I don't have experience with an Illuminations cruise.

If you have seen HEA from inside the parks before, then the cruise can be a great way to experience the show in a new way. Remember though that HEA is projection heavy so if you've never seen it from inside the park then you will miss a large portion of the show on the front of the castle.

With that said, I would prefer the dessert party if you were already planning to be in the park that day. The HEA dessert party is one of my favorite add ons currently offered. Nothing better than relaxing inside the fence, having a great view of the fireworks, and not having to take part in the madness in the hub. The desserts are just a bonus to my family.

I would also suggest checking out easywdw.com to see his take on the different events. Josh really did not like the cruise and gives a detailed explanation of each type of event. His description drove me to schedule my family for a dessert party for our trip in late July.

The HEA Cruise is great but you miss the projections. I’d do the party. Now the illuminations Cruise was incredible, I’d pick that over the frozen party.

I enjoyed our illuminations cruise, but I wouldn't say it was incredible. You are parked under the UK bridge. It isn't the best vantage point for the show. I would prefer a more stage center if I were in the parks that day. I did very much enjoy that I didn't have throngs of people to fight against to leave the park after either. Now the cruise IS better when they do additional fireworks, like for the holiday season, new years, or July 4th. You get more bang for your buck as there is more to enjoy. The snacks were nice as were the blankets.

It’s funny how people can see things so differently. I really loved our illuminations Cruise and with a family of 9 we took up the whole boat and had a great time. I also enjoyed the Pirates/HEA Cruise but I wouldn’t make that my only time seeing the show. I’ve seen illuminations hundreds of times and this was our favorite way to experience it.

I chose the private HEA fireworks cruise over a dessert party. I couldn't afford $1000 for the dessert party, but the fireworks cruise for 10 people was within my budget and much more economical. We will be watching HEA from in front of the castle earlier in the week, so the fireworks cruise will be an added special extra.
