Fireworks/California Grill

So I have a situation…I booked a quickie to Disney on the tale end of conference in the area. I frantically made reservations to the Candelight Processional with Venessa Williams on Dec 12th and felt pretty good about that. However the rest of my dining plans are a mess. Beirgarten in Epcot on Dec 11th and Raglan Road on Dec 10th. My traveling companion expressed a need to see the MK fireworks on one of those nights. I tried getting in at California Grill and well no luck there. I guess what I’m looking for is a thought on bar seating and eating (if allowed) at the California Grill and how likely I could get us in on a cancellation. Looking for hope people…Oh and I really would have hit Disapalooza but Venessa Williams comes first, have fun all that go!

I tried getting in at California Grill and well no luck there. I guess what I’m looking for is a thought on bar seating and eating (if allowed) at the California Grill and how likely I could get us in on a cancellation.

Well in general when asking to have a drink at the bar it depends on how busy the restaurant is, so there is a chance they could not even let you up for that.

That's the problem--CG is almost always jammed with patrons anywhere near fireworks time. Witout reservations, they may not let you up even to the bar.
You CAN eat at the bar there, by the way.

If you don't mind going up to the bar/lounge early and staying a few hours, then you can do that - the bar doesn't work on table turnover like the dining room. But the closer you get to fireworks time, the greater the odds are that it'll be too crowded for them to let you up to the bar.

Does it have to be Cali Grill? Because we had dinner at Narcoosee's last week and the view of Christmas Wishes from the deck was lovely. They pipe in the music same as CG and the food was very good.
