Fireworks at Universal?

On some of the trip reports, people have reported having views of fireworks from their hotel rooms. Are theses Universal fireworks, or the Disney ones? If Universal, what time/dates are they set off? Is there a schedule I can look at somewhere? Any recommendations on the best place to see them from (we're staying at HRH)?

These are the Universal ones you can see from the hotels. You have to have a room facing the parks to be able to see these fireworks... so it just depends where your room is situated.

Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure each set off their own fireworks during the summer. While we were there a couple weeks ago , IOA set them off at 9:50 and US set them off at 10:00. You can go to either park to see them. If you watch them from the hotels, you miss some of the effects that are shown in the lagoons. We went to each park to see them up close and personal.

Is there a schedule posted anywhere? We're going the last week of August, which is the week the parks start closing early (7:00). I'm wondering if there will still be fireworks every night, or if they'll only have them on the weekends.

How did you get into the parks to see them? Were the parks still open?

While we were there the parks were open until 10:00. It might be hot in July, but the park hours are great. The parks after dark are a wonderful experience.

I looked on the web site but didn't see a schedule. You may be out of luck because day light savings time ends on Oct 27th, so it will still be light out by 7pm. I'd have to guess that the fireworks end after the 1st week in August when the park closing hours change.
It is a nice show, and worth seeing close up, because like gschmerl said, they have effects in the lagoon. Some of the fireworks are on poles that spin and sway. Other times they shoot across the lagoon like a battle. The music is part of the show.
I've seen it twice this year at IOA, and my dad said it was one of the best firework shows he's ever seen, I agree.
Then as you leave IOA, you see the fireworks from Universal going off.

Well, I guess we'll miss out, we're going down the last week of August. I was hoping they'd at least have them on Friday night - I'd love to see them.
