Fireworks at Pleasure Island?

I remember reading that they celebrate New Year's Eve at PI every nite at midnight. I haven't heard this for a while though. Have the fireworks stopped? Perhaps since the building of Saratoga Springs? I could see people complaining about fireworks with young children sleeping.

Thanks

There is no longer a fireworks show at PI. They were discontinued in January 2006, as was the New Year's Eve theme. This was probably more due to the restructuring of PI than to the proximity of SSR.

I agree.

they now allow guests into this area for free. you still have to pay to visit the clubs but that is all. It is no longer closed off.

Yeah it's sad that there are no more fireworks at PI. The New Years Eve theme was pretty cute, but now PI is totally different b/c of the construction. They took out both stages and there are fences everywhere...

I was there in May with two friends and was looking forward to this. I asked one of the security guards and he said they no longer did them. :guilty:

that's disappointing to hear-we stayed at ssr in 11/05 and our balcony had a view of pi. we loved watching the fireworks each night (and if our balcony door was closed we could'nt hear a thing, so i can't imagine anyone complaining about a noise issue).

This is a bummer, as the fireworks at PI was one (of many, to be sure) selling points of Saratoga Springs. Then we got there in Jan 06, and no fireworks!
:(

Big changes going on at PI, seems like.
