I was at EPCOT waiting for Illuminations and over the UK area I watched the conclusion of Fantasmic at 8:58. Illuminations goes and completes so I decided to wait out the crowds and stay at the stage by World Showcase plaza and then at 9:20 MGM had a fireworks show again. It only lasted about 5-10 minutes, very short to be an actual Disney show. Does anybody know if it was for a special event or what was happening over there? There was too many to be another Fantasmic but could it have been a Sorcery in the Sky?

From Mouseplanet.com ...

While new special versions of the Wishes fireworks show are being prepared for Mickey's Not–So–Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party this year, it seems that another special–version fireworks show will not be updated, at least not this year. On Sunday, July 3, and Monday, July 4, the special patriotic version of Fantasy In The Sky will be presented.

Disney had been planning to test the special fireworks show for Wednesday's press event at the Disney–MGM Studios on Saturday night. The display was expected to be large enough that they were warning guests at the Pop Century Resort about the noise level. The show was cancelled due a downpour, and they were going to try again last night (Sunday). We have yet to receive word on whether or not that happened. Also, a huge stage has been set up in front of the Sorcerer's Hat at the Studios for the live entertainment at the press event.

Sounds like what you saw was the testing for the media event later this week.

I wonder where they (mouseplanet) got their info from. It was a good and pretty large and intense show that they did. I found it strange that they would test a show within 20 minutes of Fantasmic concluding. I thought they did test shoots later at night not at around 9:20 pm.

Anyways I loved seeing it and hopefully it is a new show and will stay around since it was excellent!
