Hi. Has anyone watched the fireworks from the Small World area? I realize they aren't supposed to be as spectacular from here, but are they still great? I am goin in early November and hope to see Fantasmic, then see the fireworks from this area. Please let me know your thoughts. Oh, just remembered Small World will be down to get its holiday overlay done. Will this effect the fireworks do you think? Will they put up a big wall or something? Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks!

They do not cover SM to redecorate for the holidays. Check the calendar, SM may be open by the time you go in November. As for the fireworks, we've seen them many times from that location and loved it. Of course I know with the new 50th firework show, you will miss seeing a lot of the effects if you watch it from SM area.

I was hoping to see the fireworks from the front of the castle on Friday the 4th, then on Saturday try for Fantasmic and maybe stick around back there to see the fireworks again from the Small World area. I am glad to hear they are good from there. I realize I might miss some projections on the castle, but thought I'd heard they do some onto the front of Small World. I am learning more everyday from reading here. Thanks!

We exited SM just as the fireworks were starting. I don't remember anything projected onto SM. We felt we missed alot seeing them there, it seemed disjointed. We made sure we saw them in front of the castle the next day and commented afterwards that it was MUCH better in front of the castle!

The projections at Small World are incredible. I don't even watch the fireworks when I'm there--it's all about the projections (if you can even call them that--more like film clips). I either watch them from there or the Rivers of America. I don't do in front of the castle anymore because they've messed it up by making it a standing area only.

The projections on Small World are a (relatively) recent addition, so those going in early to mid-summer would not have seen them. There is a video of them on one of the other Disney sites (LaughingPLace, I think), and they do look pretty fantastic. We plan on taking in that view on our next trip.

Thanks so much. This place is always so helpful! I am really getting excited for the trip now!!!

am I confused.....are you saying that you will watch fantasmic and see FW from Sw on the same night ? Because that would take crossing a lot of space in crowded conditions......

I am confused too. I guess I read too many things, and I can't keep all the facts straight. I think people were saying they had seen the fireworks from the Small World area first, then had time to make their way over to the later Fantasmic. You are certainly right that I couldn't see the 9pm Fantasmic then make my way over to catch the fireworks. I was hoping to avoid the 10:30 Fantasmic because I don't think my 7 year old will be able to hang that long on our last night. I wonder how many times I'll revise my plans?! Good thing I have a few weeks. Thanks for being so helpful.

Having seen the fireworks last month from two different hotels and from the Rivers of America, I can say that they look spectacular from any angle. However, standing directly across from Tom Sawyer Island was pretty amazing.

We pretty much stood our amazing ground at the end of Fantasmic and watched the sky light up. A wonderful way to spend our last September evening in Disneyland. This was a Saturday night as well, and getting out of the place would have been a nightmare were it not for some kindly Cast Member who began to let people go down a "detour" which took us behind the scenes and through a shortcut to mainstreet. But I digress.... :)

Thanks Loomis!!! That's what I needed to hear. I hope to see the Friday night Fireworks from the front, then Saturday see the first Fantasmic and stay put for the fireworks from there. I don't know what I was thinking about being near Small World. Oh well. I have never been there before!!!!

Okay, what's this about "standing room only" in front of the castle? Did they change this recently? How is that different from before and how does that change my plans of camping out to get a good spot? Can I sit and wait and then when the fireworks start, we have to stand, or do I have to stand and hold my spot or??? And can someone answer this, if my husband puts our son on his shoulders can we get there a lot later as he will be able to see from further away or will people be saying "down in front!"? We are both tall (6 feet plus) so we shouldn't have a prob seeing it from further back.

For those who have seen it from IASW, is it a comparable show to the front of the castle, is it as busy, are the fireworks behind IASW or behind you as you look at the projections??? Where is the best place to watch them from this locale to see as much as possible?

Hi,

I hope I can help. One can see the fireworks and Fantasmic in the same night if you see the fireworks (at either the castle or SW) first, then go over to the Rivers of America for Fantasmic. You can see the fireworks after the first showing of Fantasmic, but you are pretty much stuck in the same spot where you viewed Fantasmic, and that is not the best place for first-time viewers.

I have seen the Fireworks from every single place except for the parking garage. I have my favorite places and here is the order of preference:

I would first advise people to wait and watch it in front of the castle first. Then, Small World, then Rivers of America AFTER the first show of Fantasmic. Then, the exit ramp from Innoventions.

I think the front of the castle is best, but once you've seen it from there ONCE, then you should see it from SW. They project lovely images onto the facade of SW. The fireworks appear on the left of the facade, if you are staring right at the front of SW. You can be seated on the ground, such that you can turn your head to see the "Pirates" portion of the show. (I refuse to give anything away.)

The best place to see them from SW in my opinion is slightly right of center. There are no trees to block the view yet you can turn and just see Tinkerbell. (and I assume everyone knows Tink is in this thing by now).
