Can it be done?

We would like to see the fireworks at 9:30pm and then scoot over to see World of Color at 10:15pm. Is that even possible though? I'm assuming we will have to leave the fireworks early. It should be said that we have reservations with the World of Color dining package so we will be able to head to the reserved area for people who are with that package. But will we still be able to get a good viewing spot?

Thanks to everyone! This is our first trip to Disneyland (been to WDW a couple times) and we are so excited! Just secured ressies at the Napa Rose Chef's Table today! WOO HOO!

Only one week to go!!!! :cool1:

Not IMPOSSIBLE but darn near close. If fireworks start at 9:30, they'll end around 9:45-9:50 and then you will be in an absolute traffic jam leaving DL to get to DCA for World of Color. The fact that you will have preferred viewing for WOC helps you, since otherwise we recommend you show up an hour before the show and you'd be showing up mere minutes before if you are a nice fast walker. I'll make no guarantees that your WOC spot will be good as you'll be getting there after everyone else (even in the preferred area) that will take the railing spots.

To help your cause, you might consider watching the fireworks from near the train station. The show won't be as good as in the hub, but you'll have a head start leaving the park when they are over. It's still far from ideal though.

If you have any children in your party, I'll say no way. There's not a chance that 1) you'd walk fast enough with them over to DCA to make the show and 2) there's no way they'll get a spot where they can see World of Color once you're there if you are showing up as the show is starting.

Thanks so much sonnyjane! No kids...just the hubby and I so we can walk quickly and get through the crowds. I like your idea of watching from the train station. How long is the walk from the train station to the preferred veiwing for WOC?

Random question...how long does it take to get from the main entrance of Disneyland to the main entrances of DCA? Are they right across from eachother?

Thanks for being SO helpful!:thumbsup2

I used google maps to look at the park in satellite view and with the distance legend at the bottom left of the map, it looks like from entrance to entrance is about 120 feet, so it shouldn't take long to walk from one to the other. The main factor would be the line to get into the other park.

They are right across from each other. It's not so much the distance as the crowd that would be the obstacle in getting from Fireworks to WOC.

I haven't tried it, but I've definitely seen a sea of people going from one park to the other after Fireworks. Many people leave after fireworks too, so that puts more stress on the exits already. And then of course you'll need to show your pass and everything to get into DCA so there will likely be a line for that as well.

Not trying to deter you from trying, though!

Alternately, you could eschew hearing the music that goes with the fireworks and watch from between the parks. Watching near the train station rather than in front of the castle, as someone mentioned, would help your exit as well.

Its been answered, but yes can be done! I done it a few times, but ONLY if you have a Dining FP or you do standby, which both are great to show up last minute and still get good views! Regular FP can be done but yeah the view may suck!

That said, the second show does seem to have less people than the first show lately so it IS possible to get there last minute and get a decent view, but thats day by day. Dining and TLM standby area will get you good views if you show up 15-20 mins before.

See it from Main Street and rush over to DCA and you can be there in 10-15 mins even with crowds.

Thanks fctiger. Since I'm a relative newbie can you explain what dining FP and standby are? Thanks again! :-)
